Evening all,
Well the weather turned out quite nice this afternoon but we still didn't go anywhere. My sister was only meant to work the morning but was asked to work til 5.30 so we had my niece all day in the end. Cooked lunch was changed to be our evening meal and we had a feast using up lots of different bits of leftovers for lunch which everyone seemed to enjoy
Continued sorting out our tv/entertainment unit in our room
My dad & dh tidied up in the garage (our house but its mostly my dads tools etc in our garage as they have a flat without one!)
Touched up the paint in a couple of rooms (and labelled the paint tins before putting back in the garage as we had 2 colours very similar for different rooms (no idea why!)
Got the ladders out to retrieve 3 tennis balls & 2 plastic balls off the shed roof - rather then forgetting about them and buying more.
Sorted the boys school uniform out, we don't need to buy anything new except trainers that we will get next weekend from the outlet place after the crazy rush they'll have this next few days.
Put ds2's primark trainers in the washing machine (fabric really muddy etc) come out looking like new, hoping that they are ok once they've dried out (last pair of mine I washed didn't dry well and they became too uncomfortable to wear so I had to replace them. Keeping fingers crossed that its not the same!
Spot cleaned a few bits on the stairs carpet, hopefully we can delay full carpet cleaning for a bit
Now time for a cuppa & cwtch on the sofa with dh

Evening
My last night before work, and I'm setting an excellent example by sharing a bottle of wine with DH. It is our wedding anniversary so if I have to go to work with a bit of a hangover then so be it (ever the professional) - it is a training day tomorrow so not the end of the world.
Today was a total wash out - I had to use the TD for a load of washing that I needed for the kids to take to Granny's house. Then ran out of cat litter. Then needed lemonade to have my wine with DH...
Never mind - I did try for a nap and had a rest for half an hour, and I read loads of my book...
I will try to check in morning and evening tomorrow. Have a good one all.Not giving up

Well I've managed everything on my list :TWhen we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending!
So be proud of those small steps, they really important! :j
I hope no one minds me starting us off, I couldn't see a thread. Hopefully you're all having a lovely lie in
What a grim day here in the Midlands. Persisting it down with rain
oh well, less opportunity for spends as we won't go far today :T
My (not very big) list :
Food from stores and meal plan
Make waffles for breakfast
Continue to strip wallpaper from lounge - good rainy day task
Quick tidy round before 4 day working week
Make some lunch for work tomorrow
Soak oats overnight for Bircher muesli
Washing machine on overnight if weather looks better tomorrow
Go for a run, even though it's raining - must make sure I do this, can't be a fair weather runner else I won't be doing much come winter
Enjoy your day everyone
Your comment about the wallpaper made me laugh out loud DNMS. It's just like me, DH tells me I'm a marketeers dream. I aim to please :rotfl:
I've changed the menu plan around to use in leftover tomatoes etc in tonight's tea rather than them go to waste. Lunch tomorrow will be the end of my slow cooker beef stew from Friday, no meat in it as such but lots if flavour from the chucks that were
I've also rediscovered sw8gbucks, not used for ages. I stopped because I got screened out of so many surveys and lots didn't work. Still seems the same but I'll see if I can persevere with it for some pressie contributions.
We've done all the paper in the lounge apart from behind TV and fire, really need to do this when smalls are not home or at least only 1 of them. You can guarantee a small scale all out war would start just as we were lifting TV off :rotfl: just because......
We can do dining room half next weekend. Removing wallpaper was strangely soothing

Hope you've all had a lovely day.0 -
Good Evening Everyone
Picked up radiator cover, looks lovely and sets off the hall. Happy with my eBay bargain
Little ones are now in bed and just need to do a quick go over before I get to relax a little. May pop and a facemask, shape my nails and a nice hot bath. Try and use some beauty products up
Not much done today but not money spent either

Anything that isn't compatible with it I just don't use.
Windows drives me bonkers.
Thanks Ally I let OH know about Rebecca, the friend he normally discusses operating systems etc with is having some major family traumas at the moment and my first world problem regarding computer software is not something that we will be sharing with them.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Yes, I can see how it would work as soup
I tend to use it with filled pasta (when on offer) and a grating of parmesan. Makes a very easy meal, and it is lovely to have it in the winter - it is like liquid sunshine
