I live in Bere Alston on the Devon/Cornwall border near Tavistock. The broadband in the village is always dropping in and out and affects both the computer, TV and whether we can get BT sport channels. Its in Plymouth, Yelverton and Tavistock all around us but the Bere Peninsula (which is Bere Alston, Bere Ferrers, Weir Quay and other villages are all cut off. Drives me nuts as I'm trying to run an online business.0

I live in Cheltenham on the only estate without super fast broadband (speeds currently 2-5mb). It's a new housing estate too! GL52 area. Local councillors/ BT are rubbish at doing anything about the situation.02 0% £719.20 £649.26

I live in harlow, have sky package which use's B.T line for internet. been told slow internet speed is due to the distance I am from the exchange, i'm at the end of the line, they still advertise higher than posible speeds for my area.
Why should we have to pay extra for fiberoptics to get a normal/decent speed0 -
I live in rural Somerset in a village with broadband that they have been saying for 2 years would have the exchange upgraded from analogue but then it was held up so that we could get the superfast broadband in the area. To date nothing except slow broadband and no mobile signal in about 3/4 of the house and the rest with wiggles and held up in high areas manages one bar on o2, nothing on vodaphone or EE.
So to answer your question, a confirmed role out program of works and fines for companies who don't comply with the agreed coverage plan as most rural areas are now sick of being promised that we will get something only to find not.
I also find it difficult to understand how the government can give money to companies to fix the rural problems and then when the spend the money on upgrading towns and cities and large estates where the profit is bigger that nothing is done. The towns were already on digital and higher broadband than rural but now they are going to fibre optic. It ought to be part of contracts for mobile phone and broadband providers that a percentage of their area covers rural upgrade with a timescale for completion. If they were forced to upgrade on contract for services like the train companies they may stop leaving the harder to reach areas.0 -
I live in Pondwell on the Isle of Wight - my broadband runs at 1mb & less all the time which is so frustrating! My mobile signal frequently disappears also. If I lived up the hill in Ryde it would all work perfectly. Why do we have to pay the same for rubbish signals! Really fed up0

We live in Wiltshire. When the estate was started to be built the social housing element was done first. Those houses are able to get the fastest broadband of 20Mb +.
When the remainder of the estate was built with non social housing the speed available is 1.5-2Mb as its very slightly further distance.0 -
I live in the Cumbrian village of Scotby only 2 miles out of Carlisle city centre and I cannot get any signal at all on o2. The only network that slightly works is Vodaphone but we must use o2 contracts due to our place of work and it is a nightmare.0

I use EE for my mobile. I pay for 4G, but can honestly say I have only ever had 4G on a couple of occasions for a few minutes at a time!
I spend half my week in Cranwell, Lincolnshire where everyone struggles just to get a phone signal let alone the Internet. I often lend my phone to people because theirs has no signal at RAF Cranwell.
The rest of the week I spend in Lincoln where to phone signal is good, but the internet isn't always fantastic.
I'm sick of everyone in London moaning they don't get super fast internet. For the most part we don't even get a signal!
I think it's about time more money was spent in the north. How are we supposed to live in the modern age without a decent connection?0 -
I live in M21, Chorlton, south Manchester and a lot of the houses in our bit of Chorlton have terrible mobile reception even though it's flat and we're only 5 miles from Manchester city centre. Very difficult for those who work from home/run businesses from home - there are always people standing on the pavements trying to get a signal! A few people have installed boosters in their houses. All networks are affected.
It would be great if this could be improved in our area.0 -
I am in Rural Buckinghamshire - not exactly on the moon. We are delighted when we get 2mb but we did not move here expecting much else. What annoys me is that we can only buy our landline broadband from BT who haven't even upgraded the exchange from ADSL1. They have not opened up the exchange to any other providers and we pay the same as any other subscriber for a package that we can only part utilise. Certain elements of BT TV for example are included in the price but all we get is a "this is not available message". It is also unreliable, frequently stops altogether and is useless when it rains. I think for this low grade service we should be, at least, offered a lower price.0
