God I love my local corner shop!
Spend about £5 on food, drink and a paper. Pay on the card. 50p card charge. No problem.
"Do you want a bag?"
ME: Yea ok thanks
"Ok"
*adds on 5p onto the card transaction, for a tiny white bag*
:rotfl:
Fair enough lad!0 -
local shop , "yup its going to charity" , out comes phone with camera , and snaps all the thank you letters pinned on the wall from a charity , non were for over about £5,
"expect that to be ten times as much in 3 mths time" , shop owner goes all sheepish and lowers head0 -
There's only one charity he's donating to.... his back pocket.0

5p bag in Morrisons is not new and improved... it's just the normal free bag with a 5p charge, would have expected something a little stronger from a major supermarket!
Boots do two bags, as well as 5p for the normal size, they do a larger one with a 7p charge, needed one today to carry some Christmas gifts home in. Sadly it had split down one side by the time I had got home so not reusable! :mad:0 -

Its a tax that the government imposes. I wouldn't expect any retailer to introduce better quality bags for the 5p (although I realise Sainsburys are being a bit sneaky with how they are getting round the charge)0
