Problem is quite a lot of poster on here lie and when they say they've done something they haven't.

Although I am not saying this poster lied!

I'm still amazed this thread is still going on. It's a minuscule charge that the Scots and Welsh have managed to cope with without civilisation breaking down :)

I'm sure it won't cause a problem in England.

Wasnt easy, those first few days were tough

Or at least going by the multiple threads,I assume this is what people though happened.

Judging by the rant I heard from a 'lady' today when I was out shopping, you'd think it was the apocalypse coming. :rotfl:

Personally I'm not sure what the big deal is. Anyone would think that England were the only country doing this!

I suppose the English can take their anger out on their rugby team by ranting about 5p carrier bag charge ;)

England are the only country who think it will cause the Apocalypse on Monday.

If I see 4 horsemen then I'll post on this thread

OP, does your employer have an employee assistance service, someone you can call when things get too much? If so, can I suggest you put them on speed dial before you get to work tomorrow? Or maybe take some leave until the riots die down? ;)

What a silly comment. The OP has never suggested there will be rioting or anything like that. Just that there are a few who will kick up a fuss.

Zedicus old chap, why is it that sarcasm always goes straight over your head? ;)

I knew perfectly well that it was sarcasm.

Sometimes sarcasm can be witty and amusing.

Sometimes it's just plain snide and silly (particularly where it's being used to ridicule someone by someone who hasn't got the intellectual equipment to do it by plain discussion).

I'll leave it as an exercise for the reader to place your comment in the appropriate category.

As I have made clear in previous posts I live in Wales and that we were charged for paper bags here Poosticks asked me for a link so I gave him one!

This thread is amusing me as there was a similar outcry of "I can't cope without free bags" in Wales in 2011 but now it's no biggie. We laugh when assistant asks if we want a bag and we say no "I'm too mean to pay 5p".

In Sainsburys tonight 2 male students were OUTRAGED that they had to pay 5p for a bag, that they are free in England etc. When the till operator pointed out it wasn't for much longer they still weren't impressed. Guess they could afford it though as the 2 of them were getting a taxi back with their 2 bags of shopping. I heard where they said they were going to and it was max 2 mile walk. Guess they are feeling rich with their student loan just in!

    Thank you!

There have been a number of welsh, scots or Irish posters who have been royally slagging off Englands attitude over this issue.

When I asked them if they really had had no moans prior to the introduction in their country, they all declined to answer.

    Funny that

I am one of those that have been 'royally slagging off' Englands attitude however I live in England close to the Welsh border so shop in Chester & Wrexham. TBH I had no moans at all when it came in in Wales as, apart from the situations where we were buying one or two items, we have always (for the last 30 years, even when living in London) used our own bags in supermarkets.

Yes, it's a bit of a !!!!er when you forget to have a bag with you when you buy the odd item but you just adjust and I always havve 2 bags in the car with me.

If I forget to take one out of the car then you can I probably have a clean doggy poo bag in one of my pockets that I can use in emergencies :D
