23 days that I can choose when to take, plus bank holidays and 5 'closed' days (3 at Christmas and 2 Tuesdays after bank holidays). In addition I also have flexi-time so up to 13 additional days each year to take back for hours accrued. I will get an additional 5 days after 5 years service. Number of days holiday is a big factor for me when choosing jobs, and I would rather have lower pay but more days off.

    Whats annual leave?

It's the bit of time you have between contracts unpaid of course...or if very busy probably just Christmas Day again unpaid and that's about it.

:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

I know this is not helping, but I have 365 days off now. Yippee!

But when I was working FT it was 32 days pa Bank hols extra.

Then I could take unpaid any time I liked minimum two weeks at a time.

I prefer 365 off now though!

I struggle with just 26 days a year.

    Why struggle with 26 days?

I have in theory 28, going to take about 10 this year.

Since 1991, it's averaged out at about 5 days a year, last couple of years, I've turned into a slacker:rotfl:

25 days for me but we can buy or sell up to 5 additional days.

Personally i've never struggled with 25 days and usually end up carrying a few days over each year.

I'm a freelancer, but on PAYE, so if I don't take any holidays I get paid holiday pay at the end of each contract, usually it's 10.8% of my earnings (or 10.77%). I don't know how much that works to a year if I were to take holidays, probably just the statutory minimum!

17 days I get to choose, 3 must be taken at Christmas, the other 8 are bank holidays - pretty rubbish.

I'm assuming that doesn't include bank holidays, in which case that really isn't too bad. I get 29 a year + bank holidays which is plenty even considering I like my holidays. That includes a 3 day bonus for length of service.

I'm sure your massive day rate more than makes up for it though. ;)
