    6 weeks.

Still not been told about Dec 26th yet. We aren't allowed to book it off as Dec 28th is classified as the BH. I still have 8 hours left to cover if we are able to book it.

All of us are annoyed about it. The last few years, my shop is open on Dec 26th 10am-5pm, instead of 8am-8pm. There will be more colleagues as those that finish at 8:30pm will require to start earlier.

I will speak to the union rep about it. I am willing to work Xmas Eve instead of Dec 26th as we are very busy and just made half of a typical Sunday's trade on Dec 26th last year.

I better stop complaining that my 26 days isn't enough. I get bank hols on top.

It doesn't feel a lot as having a week off goes so quick & it's not long enough for a long haul holiday (with time to adjust body clock upon return).

Two weeks leave uses up more than 1/3 and I'll have to spread the remainder thinly.

However, the past couple of years I've had personal changes which include buying a flat so all my annual leave so far has been used doing errands or essential work so it feels like I've not had any time off in a while.

20 days, work carries on as normal on bank holidays, the one day a year our phones don't ring is 25th December.
  • Potentially 51 days, including flexi and bank holidays.

    I'm a temp so get 20 days.

My last perm job I got 25 days plus bank holidays and I'd love that again. We worked flexi time as well so got flexi days in addition.

Officially I offer staff 20 days plus bank hols, but in reality once we know they're a keeper we don't really mind how much staff take off (some go on hol 4 or 5 times a year), and we give them full pay even if off sick (one member was off for a year recovering from chemo with full pay). Its quite a relaxed but hard working office where everyone has input, staff can b*gger off and watch TV/films, play on consoles, darts, bring their kids in, spend a few hours in the pub opposite or bring some tinnies in, work from home if it keeps them happy and motivated. Think its working, out of 15 staff this year, there has been a total of 2 sick days (probably hang overs, my programmers are light weights), and we've doubled turnover year on year since 2010.

I would love to work for you.
    Hire me. :D

What sort of business are you running ? IT ?
  • As well as bank holidays, we get between 26 and 30 depending on length of service. I get 30.

Anyone with less than 30 can buy extra days taking them up to a maximum of 30,

I get 29, plus 5 extra for having been with the company for over 5 years. I work bank holidays, the only days that the business doesn't open is Xmas day, and New Years day. They used to make us take those days out of our annual leave, but not any more. So, I don't think I do too badly, leave wise
