I've heard a number of labour MPs be interviewed on their policies this weekend. Every single one has deflected questions and just ranted about the tories. It's like amateur hour !!!!!!.Keir Starmer insists Labour is "flexible" on Brexit as divisions widen after Momentum blocked key Brexit vote

The Labour MP on Daily Politics today (can't remember her name, like many Labour MPs she's more likely to appear in Who's That than in Who's Who) was trying to claim that the reason Brexit wouldn't be properly debated & voted on was that "there's no need to debate it because everybody in the Labour Party shares the same view".
You really couldn't make it up. On a serious note, the conflicting messages from the Labour Party on a daily basis are so frequent that wheras initially I assumed they were just imcompetent clowns, I'm actually starting to think it's a deliberate policy. By constantly stating different positions (on every topic, not just Brexit) it actually becomes quite difficult for their critics because for every quote saying their stance is X there is a contrasting quote saying it's Y. And that is all the ammunition the Momentum trolls need to pepper every bit of social media in sight with a quote that backs their view to whatever audience they're trying to con.
Eventually all Joe Public sees is people arguing & end up so confused most of them just vote the way they traditionally would anyway or don't vote at all.
I suppose if your politics are as despicable as Corbyn's hoping that most people don't actually understand what your stance actually is on as many topics as possible is the best you can hope for.0 -
' Business groups slam John McDonnell's pledge for state intervention as "wrong plan at the wrong time" 'Carolyn Fairbairn, director general of the Conferedation of British Industry (CBI), said his speech "raises a warning flag over the British economy at a critical time for our country’s future".
She added: “The Shadow Chancellor’s vision of massive state intervention is the wrong plan at the wrong time... Forced nationalisation of large parts of British industry will send investors running for the hills, and puts misplaced nostalgia ahead of progressive vision.
"The trickle of stalled investments caused by Brexit uncertainty could become a flood if these plans were to become reality. This would threaten the living standards of the very people that need help, from pensioners to students," she added. Fairbanks said she was seeking an "urgent discussion with the Labour leadership" in the hope "better solutions" could be sought.
Ouch!

Yep it's so easy to square the multitude of positions on brexit in the Labour Party isn't it. They are also not the Govmt, (yet) and have no control of the timing of negotiations. All they can feasibly do is what John McDonnell said on R4 this am. To expect more certainty than that is unrealistic. Of course I realise they'll only find the stony ground of cynicism on this thread.0 -

It is the definition of an entitled person. They are entitled to be right all the time their parents have never said no to them or told them they are wrong. There is a whole generation coming along who think like this.0 -
