"It's about time we started honouring those people involved in the armed struggle. It was the bombs and bullets and sacrifice made by the likes of Bobby Sands that brought Britain to the negotiating table. The peace we have now is due to the action of the IRA." He later said that the "deaths of innocent civilians in IRA attacks is a real tragedy, but it was as a result of British occupation in Ireland. Because of the bravery of the IRA and people like Bobby Sands we now have a peace process.
Wonder what his views on ISIS are? As they do pose a huge threat to the UK. Only takes one bomb.............
Whose the treacherous politician here?
Was it McDonnell who had a political view on Ulster/Ireland or the likes of Major or Blair who bargained with terrorists and gave them political power?
If we were still at war with the IRA you'd have a point. McDonnell's muttering's are as nothing compared with the real actions of other politicians.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -

Why?
The latest ICM/Guardian poll shows a slight drop in the Conservative (38%) share of the vote, with newly elected Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn enjoying an immediate honeymoon boost of 1-point (32%), which of course, is most likely to be a function of normal sampling variation.

Suspect there's more important matters on the agenda. With no elections on the horizon. Counts for little.
Suspect the plan will simply to be to let Corbyn have as much rope as he wants................................0 -
The rank and file have always (as a general rule) stood well to the left of where the PLP is to be found.
It's called "group polarisation".

Labour risk flying to the left at a *very* rate of knots as they all desperately try to fit in while eating their own dog food.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

The lack of peace was caused by the IRA and the peace we have now is because they've (mostly) stopped killing people. So, we're supposed to thank them for stopping killing people and turn a blind eye to them choosing to do it in the first place?I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Blair made the Labour party appeal to Middle England. There'll be people jumping ship.0 -
