Clapton: aside from Corbyn's IRA links what's your views on his politics and leadership of the labour party?Left is never right but I always am.0

no idea what you are saying
Martin ALWAYS supported the IRA and was quite open about it : he is totally unapologetic about the murders and killings and sees himself as an Irish patriot and freedom fighter.
Are you saying that Corbyn is exactly the same?
When would you give into terrorist : after the first killing or would you try to defeat it first?
What was your reaction to 7/7, surrender?
Talking is not giving in but can also be backed up by the threat or use of force.
End of.
I thought this was thread about economics.Do not be fooled into believing that this society cannot be made fairer because hard work isn't necessarily all it takes.
There are those on MSE DT who know the price of everything but the value of little.0 -

so stick to economics then
but Corbyn isn't about economics at the moment0 -
Thinking about economics, it fascinates me that labour always seem to think it is a good idea to over tax high earners.
There is a problem with this. We have several people that this would affect seriously on our books. Every last one of them would simply move overseas until someone came to their senses and realised that more tax is raised by taxing them lower and allowing them to live in this country.
It is also slightly alarming that they set the "high income" bracket so low. There should be a difference between the high income bracket in the south and the one in the north, because it costs a lot more to live in the south. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

Already happening as a result of recent pension changes IME.
The thing about the geese that lay the golden eggs is that they have wings.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

Nothing new, nothing that's ever worked, nothing that ever will work other than for a short period of time. Once you've run out of other peoples' money to spend, it all goes very wrong.leadership of the labour party?
He leads some bits of it very well.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Leaving aside the distortions that would create (e.g. large numbers of rich people buying a house in the North, designating it as their primary residence, then leaving it empty and continuing to live in London - which would hardly help the housing crisis) - this really isn't necessary because the more you earn the less the difference in the local cost of living affects you. Because you buy more stuff online.
If you still think it is unfair that you are a higher rate taxpayer and have the same tax bill as someone in the North, move up North.0 -

The third biggest union has backed Owen Smith in the Labour leadership in a blow to Jeremy Corbyn.
The 600,000-strong GMB has officially endorsed the the former shadow work and pensions secretary in a significant boost to his campaign.
Mr Smith had not been expected to win the backing of the big unions and the GMB had stood firmly by Mr Corbyn during the attempt to oust him in the wake of the EU referendum vote
