daily trawl of the right wing press for hate pieces
I'm sure your tongue was firmly in your cheek, but New Statesman is decidedly left of centre. At times it veers towards socialism and sometimes straight on past to outright communism. They even spent many a year in praise of Stalin!
The New Statesman and Comrade Corbyn were made for each other.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
Like all religions, the Faith of the Invisible Pink Unicorns is based upon both logic and faith. We have faith that they are pink; we logically know that they are invisible because we can't see them.0 -

Interestingly the New Statesman which, as you say, is rather to the left of the centre of politics in the UK seems rather anti Mr Corbyn. I've found a few articles hating on him.
Perhaps he's the wrong sort of left winger. I suspect the problem is that the New Statesman has an editorial line which involves the left winning power at some point which simply ain't gonna happen under Mr C.0 -

As far as the British left is concerned, it is vitally important to be the right sort of left winger. If you are the right sort of left winger, then whilst a Tory might be scum, the wrong sort of left winger is the very embodiment of satan that should be cast into the bottomless pit and so forth.0 -
Tory lead slashed to 9%:

Some interesting points in the comments notably that it is highly unusual for the Government to retain this sort of lead in the polls so long after an election.0 -

You can see why Cameron was so keen to call the EU referendum this year to avoid being an' unpopular midterm govt' when the vote took place because of course people only ever vote on the issues but nonetheless....I think....0 -

Expect lots of whinging later on this week.
Yup. Much more popular to spend than save. Just look at the DFW serial offenders.0 -
On the subject of opinion polls:

UK Election has the following seat prediction for the Scottish elections:- SNP 69
- Con 25
- Lab 20
- Green 9
- Lib Dems 5
SNP to sweep all before them obviously but it's a really good effort by the Corbyn leadership to give the Tories a sniff of coming second in Scotland. The May elections are looking like they could be a bloodbath if Scotland is anything to go by.0 -
I think it's fair to say that tonight is going to be an interesting challenge for Mr Corbyn's Labour. The Opposition should be winning seats not losing them at this point in the cycle.
I suspect that UKIP are going to be the big winners tonight.0 -
Well it's looking slightly bad for Labour in England: worse than they should do but good enough to keep Mr Corbyn in power. Scotland is looking very poor for Labour though.0
