I don't get it. I thought the whole argument was a big fat whinge and hand wringing angst against Tory "austerity", the big claim that trident should be scrapped and welfare spend saved.

    What is this new turn?

EDIT: Apologies if I misunderstood the stance, I don't pay close attention.

The trouble is, whilst Corbyn might have raised many issues in terms of the Labour Party's own internal squabbles, he hasn't raised any issues that are of any interest to anyone outside the Labour Party.
The increase in Labour Party membership would seem to indicate otherwise!

    This is worth a read.

I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

As far as I'm aware Japan does not have a fleet of nuclear submarines equipped with missiles that don't have any warheads. In fact, I don't think Japan has any offensive capabilities whatsoever.

Besides, I don't think anyone is questioning the 'feasibility' of having a bunch of submarines sailing about the place with missiles that don't have any warheads. I think people are questioning the sanity of so doing.

    No it doesn't.

The fact that a lot of Leftists are now enthused by the new Corbynist Labour Party doesn't change the fact that the rest of the country isn't very interested.

These so called 'leftists' are as much part of the country as anyone else is.

'The shadow defence secretary, Emily Thornberry, later confirmed that the idea would be considered as part of the defence review, launched on Friday. Thornberry said it was the “Japanese option” to maintain submarines and nuclear capabilities without actually having operational nuclear weapons.'
Japan has been able to produce nuclear weapons since the eighties and also has a large stockpile of plutonium.

Could you explain how Labour justify this after attacking the Tories repeatedly on welfare cuts vs Trident spending?
