Corbynomics: A Dystopia

I agree....it's about realisitic choices....but don't forget Osborne's current deficit reduction plan is almost the same as what Darling was intending to do had Labour won in 2010. Also look at the result of the election in Spain a few days ago.....the right's austerity agenda was defeated. Also the Greek's have voted in a left wing govmt which has given the people back their self respect as a starter.....it hasn't turned into the disaster the right wing commentators were predicting there. The encouragement of new thinking should be encouraged imo. The arrogant Ya boo deriding of Corbynomics, so common on this thread, says much about the personal prejudices and corner shop economics of Corbyn's critics. He is actually a breath of fresh air in our cynical, backbiting political system who should be encouraged not derided imo.
perhaps you could share with us what the labour parties policies actually are?
presumably his plans to reopen the mines is 'inoperative'?0 -

We had some common ground but we diverge here. Syriza has not done anything they promised they would. In particular, they have not "ended austerity". And that is because after a certain point, austerity is no longer a choice. It'll happen in one form or another regardless.0 -

Well, quite. When your mismanagement of finances has dug you into a big hole, you don't keep digging. Labour *still* haven't managed to grasp this, which is a large part of why they lost the election so spectacularly.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

The reason I love Corbyn is because he doesnt come from the same factory where they manufacture all the other politicians and white collar managers. He has genuinely thought through views and seems to be sincere. Yes he is a bit left wing but I think come 2020 we would need a few years of left govt to undo the damage of 10 years of Tory rule. Labour party needs a cleanup desperately which is full of Blairite right wingers posing as lefties.0

Do you agree with his support for the IRA and his friendship with McDonnell who wants to honour the IRA bombers.
And his view that Mao killing 60 million of his own people was a price worth paying for socialism?
Do you agree with his reversing his view about EU, NATO etc.?0 -
FIt's nice to read a balanced view for once! I agree with you....Corbyn's ideals are not workable in the UK and he does need to sharpen up his opposition but my point is that doesn't make him the 'stupid', 'dangerous' 'communist'..... whatever label fits the prejudices of the various accusers on this thread.
I found this article to be a pretty balanced view on this:-

He got 2 Es at A level. That is compelling evidence that he is not that bright.0 -
Its only a snapshot at that point in time of his knowledge (or rather memory) and effort of the subjects he sat.
Out of interest, which are the subjects that he crashed and burnt in?
His ignorance in the areas of politics and economics seem to be particularly pronounced, but I'm sure his lack of ability is spread far more broadly.I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.

Googling doesn't quickly show what his pretty much failed A-levels were in. However, he went on to have a go at a Trade Union Studies course at North London Poly but clearly found even this too demanding and he dropped out after a year!I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
