Red Ken branded 'a shameful stupid man' by relatives of 7/7 victims after claiming the bombers 'gave their lives for what they believed'
What is wrong with the Labour Party?
Is it too much to ask for politicians who blame terrorists for terrorism?0 -

Just as we thought it was hard to get any worse for Labour, they now hold 2 positions simultaneously on war in Syria.0 -
In Oldham a Labour hold should be a given. It shows how nuts the situation is that it can even be contemplated as anything else.
I was watching Daily Politics last night and a guy from Labour Central Office said that they expected to win with a majority of 2000.....
...from 14500.....
As Peston would say "I know it's stating the bleedin obvious " but such a swing really would wipe Labour out in 2020.0 -
Mr Corbyn still doesn't seem to be exciting the country at last:

To be fair, opinion polls show a lot of the public (~20%) undecided on the issue, and it fairly even between those for and against bombing. Therefore it's difficult for an MP to represent such a range of opinions amongst their constituents.
It's silly to deny that war in Iraq wasn't a contributing factor in the actions of the 2005 bombers; it's just as silly to come out with blunt statements like Livingstone. They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -

TBH, I think it's an excuse, another reason to hate the West.
The fanatics want to hate. Then they look for a reason.
It's the same with any group of fanatics: NAZIs, commies, nationalists, religious loons. They're all cut from the same cloth and they all use ludicrous excuses to do despicable things.0 -

I think it probably makes it easier to brainwash more acolytes but they would find a way to recruit people to their cause without it.
The main problem with bombing stuff is that it doesn't really work. The yanks have been bombing ISIL for ages. We have been bombing them in Iraq just not Syria. It hasn't achieved its objectives yet and I don't see why extending the theatre of British operations is likely to make any difference to the outcome, especially given the size of the forces at our disposal.
Basically it is just a waste of taxpayers' money.0 -
the problem for me is the type of bombs being used. We spend all that money on trident it seems daft not to give it a go.
A few well scattered nukes across the middle east would solve a number of problems. Sure you'll create some new ones too but its about time for a changeLeft is never right but I always am.0 -
I think Islamic mentalists are like bacteria. Yes, you can kill 99% of them with strong bleach (bombs), but those that survive proliferate so rapidly (I mean in terms of recruitment rather than actual reproduction) that you're back where you started.
I would rather parliament was debating the real issue: what is Turkey's position and what can we do about it.They are an EYESORES!!!!0 -

I believe Turkey has come out against Christmas...and therefore must be enemies of the Christian West....I think....0
