That said I do think ebay are greedy scum who should be erased from the face of the earth.

Good god, I'm agreeing with Dave Brooker

    Cheers, Des.

It's about time Ebay got some real competition imo...

It is worrying....as a lot of things have changed in the last 6 months...and a lot of people aren't happy about it!! The problem being, is that there is no real place for the rebel Ebayers to go....

    Ebid!......

Am I the only one that thinks Paypal is great, I sell an item, and am paid without the hassle of receiving cheques, postal orders etc, I simply cover their fees and paypal fees within my P&P charges

It's great until you receive a chargeback from a fraudulent account.

It's great for a buyer, less so for a seller.

You lot are so fickle, half the posts are moaning about scammers then when ebay does something about it you become the monopolies commission. Just what's wrong with paypal? It's people who pay by cheque that give me a hard time, no item number or any info whatsoever, wrong payee (often my ebay ID), second class post a week later - the list goes on!

I'm with you on this. I hate cheques with a passion, they take for ever to arrive I then have to traipse down to my local bank to pay them in and wait for them to clear. Half the time I just don't bother and for smaller items I ship as soon as I have the cheque as I actually got a neutral once for slow posting when they expected me to send the goods same day even though they had not bothered to send a cheque for 8 days and I had opened an NPB on them.

Also it is our own experiences that guide us, in several thousand transactions with paypal I have never had a problem. In proportionally less cheque transaction, just a few hundred I have had a cheque recalled after a month, and another bounce after 9 days.

It's about choice, as someone selling goods I should have the choice of what options I choose to accept as payments, I may choose to only offer Paypal but it's my choice.

If it's to cut down on scammers why not allow other options such as google checkout, Ebay wouldn't be forcing people to use Paypal if they didn't own it, this just helps boost their income.
