Quentin is correct flopsy1973. There is a £30 cease fee if you do not transfer to another provider or go with someone like Virgin and cancel your ADSL service.
Generally from what I've seen Plusnet require a break of 1 month to be considered a new customer.
I know some people on this thread have had some haggling success, but my advice would be to use the broadband comparison tool on here and start your transfer to another provider.0 -

The cease fee applies, even if you migrate to another provider, unless they use BT lines and so includes migration to such as Sky and TalkTalk.0 -

Success haggling with Plusnet!
My contract was due in 15 days so I opened a chat session and asked them how much time did I have left on my contract and that I was thinking of switching to another provider due to the price I was paying was not in line with the market price.
The lady at CS chat offered me the new customer deal: £31/month. I gave her the price for the same service at Vodafone, which is £27/month, £12 cheaper. She took some time and matched the £27/month on a new 18 month contract, which I accepted.
I didn't want to switch because Plusnet speeds are unmatched in my area. I just wanted to pay less! I've got a discount of 30% for the next 18 months, happy days!Nationwide Mortgage (FTB & 85% LTV)
Timeline:Application submitted 8/10
Valuation scheduled on 10/10 for 19/10
Valuation re-scheduled on 19/10 for 26/10

Valuation 26/10
Valuation approved 26/10
Mortgage offer issued 27/100 -
Did the same myself, this morning. A similar deal for Fibre Extra Unlimited. Connected to chat immediately and negotiated with a very helpful rep. 18 months minimum contracted term.0

Existing fibre deal with plusnet is £26.50/month and is finished next week.
Opened online chat and said Vodaphone have it at £20/month. Instantly agreed to price match on an 18 month deal. Top job.0 -
Yep, I'm another one that used the Vodafone offer as leverage.
Non contact price is a little over £40 a month including the line rental. Mentioned Vodafone and they matched it straight away. £22.50 for 38mb fibre and it includes line rental.
Only a little cheaper than last year, but I'm happy. I don't like to haggle, and I didnt really want to switch.
18 month contract but to be honest I'm quite glad to not have to do it more often, and now I'm not on LRS I don't have to worry about overlapping contracts on that.0 -
Repeating the successes of above.
Phoned PlusNet and said I was thinking about leaving due to the Vodafone price.
Currently paying £38.50 for Unlimited Fibre Extra (upto 80mb). Quoted the Vodafone £24 offer and they instantly matched it.
Like others incredibly happy with the speed and service I get from PlusNet so didn't really want to move on. £250+ saved in 10 minutes :beer:0 -
Anyone else conned into plusnet mobile? What a shower, had to have 2nd d/d, 2nd site & when login mail finally arrived, link for password reset will not work, called 3rd time & told my fault & connect using explorer as chrome settings confused with broadband site! Just could not make it up so asked for manager - of course, none available (too busy trying to work out new schemes to NOT DO US PROUD)!!
How it came top in polls here defeats me as it is ave. 1 star on trust pilot & that is too high a rating.
AVOID PLUSNET IN ALL IT`S GUISES IS THE ONLY WAY TO DO YOURSELF PROUD.
If anyone can advise on rights when i cannot even login to see my own bills or to set up the phone for internet connection - there must be a breach of contract here!!!
Want out of all plusnet services, with no penalties for breach of reasonable customer support.0 -
I was not very pleased with my service when I first joined, but cs,especially via their forum has improved )someone volunteered to increase my speed, after a comment I made.
It has since increased to near what my Sky speed was and at negotiation time,I was immediately offered my original good deal, with just the £12 increase in line rental.0
