You would have to request that number under the freedom of information act.PolishBigSpender wrote: »The EEA 3 month limit is a legal fiction.
It is cleary written in EU law which is why the UK is allowed to remove and ban EEA citizens who overstay their 3 months and aren't a qualified person as they are a burden to another country i.e. schools, housing
That 3 months is also clearly written on europa.eu site as a guide for EEAs wanting to live in another county. That europe site also makes it very clear that it is a myth to think that EU citizenship means we can just live in another country past 3 months. We are all meant to check these requirements and keep up to date with any changes in the EEA country we move to.
The bolding in this eu site quote is theirs, to make sure EEA citizens understand the 3 month limit EU rule.- EU citizens can reside on the territory of another EU country for up to three months without any conditions other than the requirement to hold a valid identity card or passport;
- To reside in another EU country for more than three months, EU citizens are required to meet certain conditions depending on their status (i.e. worker, student, etc.) and may also be required to meet certain administrative formalities;

From 2010, the UK does and bans them for 1 year. It's difficult to find them I agree, unless they come to the attention of the councils if they ask to be housed, various benefit agencies, police, NHS, have been reported to UKVI etc.
Now Germany wants to deport and ban EEAs and their families members for 5 years if they claimed any benefits they were not allowed or gave false information to get an increase in benefits. The UK has already said they will adapt this for the UK if Germany gets that through and Merkel has said she is confident she will. The links are in this thread.
Perhaps the biggest new check for EEA citizens is the change to the NHS. Before, the NHS had to take the word of the EEA citizens and their family members that they were allowed to use the NHS for free, but that has now ended and they will have to pay. Even being a qualifed person in the UK does not always give free NHS and many will now need insurance for all the family to pay their NHS bills..
British citizenship.
Another major change the UK has made is that every British citzenship application will now be checked. There has been an increase in these from EEAs who are worried the UK will leave the EU.
Plus for EEA citizens wanting to be British, they now have to prove to UKVI that they have been a qualified person for every day of their 5 years to achive PR and UKVI will now check that they have. There are many posts where they have been turned down because for just a few days they weren't a qualified person, or if from an Eastern EEA country, didn't comply fully with the UKs Workers Registration scheme. The UK is now very strict.
The new Good Character rules that applicants must pass for UK citizenship, has been toughened up to include offences such as overstaying, driving offences, cautions etcRENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
