  • Please can I join you all this week. I am a lurker with a messy, busy household! I'm on holiday from work this week but we aren't going away for the first time in about 15 years! We had a mega clean up and tidy of all the public areas of our house yesterday, so it's not looking too bad. I figure that if I can fly well this week and still enjoy our 'staycation' then I can hopefully still fly when I go back to work next week!
Living the dream, one moment at a time. It's not always easy but there are sparkles of joy around every corner.:heart::j
  • Morning all. I am in - waving from the sofa.

Dusty - yes they did win, although I didn't see it. I opted out early and missed the pub. I also missed out on a long walk home in pouring rain...

Mumto5 good luck for your interview today.

Hospital appointment today at 4.30. Fingers crossed that I will find out if/when I will be having a scan to find out if the chemo is working.

    Morning all :D

I've been busy today! I was up and working by 7am :D Money moved around, multiple bills paid, budget juggled, urgent items ordered from ar90s to pick up later, accounts updated, shopping list written, email cleared, work delivery sorted out (but I still need to put it away, thats next on my list while I have lunch), fly list for DD typed up, wash load done & now in TD (workmen are working outside again next door), WM on a clean cycle before clothing goes in (just washed cleaning cloths then dog stuff!), stuff on charge ready for me to take out with me, all the bins were emptied and I had a flinging session before the binmen showed up. :D So all my household admin is done until I get home and need to add any purchases to my accounts.

Now I just need to clear everything away, have some lunch as I'm hungry, then head out to town to go to renew DD's buspass for school and collect stuff. I'll need to pop to another shop on the way home (I could go to the branch in town, but then I'd have to carry it home 3 miles up hill so might as well go to the local one instead ;) ). I had big plans for today but I can't see it all being done, as is usual for me :rotfl:

    Right where's the list:

    Marvellous Monday: Bathroom First!
    Level 1

Clear first, bin any rubbish, rehome any migrated items.
Wipe all surfaces, windowsills, shelves etc
    Clean the sink & loo
    Level 2
    Deweb ceilings and corners
    Wipe down some tiles
    Clean the bath
    Level 3
Wipe down any edges - bath panels, pedestals etc
Wipe door handles, light switches with some antibac
    Clean the floor
    Extras:

    • Put out fresh ones
    • Spritz a bit of air freshener, if you like!
    • Enjoy a well earned cuppa :coffee:
Okay, lunch time for me while I get sorted to go out. Catch you all later

Thanks for the thread Bossy and for last week's, Natty.

Did try to post earlier from the i pad but quoting (and, more importantly, editing) is a pig so I gave up.

    Welcome rach pach and LB29

So far I have fed next door's bunnies and cleaned out the food dish which got caught in saturday's storm and was full of soggy food and water (yuk) they have another dish. I took a bag round to empty it in, binned the slop, washed out the dish in a bucket I found and have left it to dry. pro tem they are sharing the other dish. I have also put my bunny in his run; will feed him dry food later when he has had some hay and grass (good grass man!):rotfl:

    Emptied DW
Pegged 2 x WM loads on the line.
    Ironed a maidenful of laundry.
    Paired socks
    Took out recycling
Collected all shoes abansoned downstairs and have arranged them on stairs to be grabbed by passing persons
Binned wallpaper stripping rubbish - DD wants 'cloud' wallpaper. She has to help. We are doing it Weds or Thurs I think

back from the outlaws.. I didn't even moan at you all :p

    Welcome home!

Valli, pear chutney happens here when the pear tree has an exceptionally good year because they don't freeze or make jam. For some reason our tiny tree had two very bountiful years one after the other so we had to make tons of chutney. This year, hardly any on the tree, which is a bit of a relief.

Mumto5, it's such a big day for you I want to run up a few flags! I hope the interview went well and your OH had a great day's consultancy work.

CY, hope you're not too tired after your day out at the cricket. Have a random (((hug))).

Kitchen sink scrubbed, dog walked twice so I've now got two lots of soggy clothing, shoes and towels festooned around the place, and I'm spending the rest of the day in my office dealing with the paperwork that I've been ignoring for three weeks. There's rather a lot. First things first, though: evening classes and anniversary dinner booked.
    Better is good enough.

I get your drift. But there are sloes near you - and gin :heartpuls
so I dare say you might get something made!

I have planted the conifer, given to me by a child, for Christmas, about 10 years ago as a miniature tree in a tiny pot covered with fake snow, in the garden. It's about 2ft tall now. It was very pot bound. Mater says it'll think it's its birthday! I have also tethered more strawberry runners; 20 altogether now. Another half dozen or so should do it. As rain is forecast later I haven't bothered watering;) - two birds and all that! For some reason pot plants given to me as gifts rarely die - which is all very well but they do need some attention. I have had 2 miniature roses (one for Easter, from a sister, one for summer, from a child) - the Easter one was looking worse for wear but I replanted both of them in a longer terracotta trough and they are all flourishing!

And Benny Bunny's hutch has been cleaned out; now 'airing'.

CY- hope you get some news today x

Well, three bathrooms done. Then I had lunch and now having the obligatory cuppa from the list!

Darling kiddies are having fun with a very large cardboard box! First it was a ship, they had to make a treasure map and find an oar! And now they have turned it into a train. Wheels have been made and they asked me to put a hole in the bottom for their legs! Lunch had to be had inside the train as well! they are leavin a trail of destruction but they have had fun and if kept them quiet while I was cleaning! Will give them another half an hour and then have tidy up time before making daddy a congratulations card!
