Been and tried them out yesterday. The king is only an added 6inch so for me not worth the expense for such small gain.

The super king we could lay and have space for the kids between us of a morning.
It's going to be the bed and side tables in the bedroom. .but that's what the room is for so think we will be okay :-)

Or in our case the dog. Although with our dog (may she rest in peace) a superduperking would've been better.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

Yes the added bed space will be worth it all round! We too have a dog that likes to hog precious bed space :rotfl:
  • If you do go for the Super King you might consider 2 separate mattresses on a Super King size base. This means you don't get disturbed when you partner gets in or out of bed (maybe for the loo) during the night, or if either of you comes to bed later than the other.

You then have to buy only 2 single fitted base sheets. I would go for the SuperKing duvet and covers as the Kingsize won't have enough over-hang.

Hope this helps and sweet dreams...

Getting divan with ottoman so whole underneath is storage which will be very very helpful

If there's not much room around the bed it will be quite awkward accessing the storage space underneath. Take this into account when looking at the beds. We've got some under-bed storage drawers which are less useful than they might be because we don't have room to pull them out more than a few inches!

Thats a good point, we can't access the storage boxes v.well because the bed side tables are in the way. The spare room bed has them only at the bottom though.

We definitely had to take this into account. We got the ottoman style where the whole base lifts from the bottom of the bed... meaning it can be accessed without moving side tables or the bed to pull draws out of fully. It'll be bedding and the rarely used items under there... but very useful space indeed

More than this - you would need to consider the real estate you can really play with.
The frame for a king size can vary widely - the same with super king.
If you are tight then getting an Ottoman in either king or the super king will give you more space on either side. Any other type of frame will add fair bit of width and length to your bedspace(hence reducing your available space)
We have a king size mattress but the frame is ginormous.

  • Mr woolly and I are not small and we were cramped in a double – it's amazing how much difference the six inches of a king makes

Go into a bed store and lay on a king together and see what you think

Even better would be to stay overnight on one in a hotel or at a friend's house, if you can arrange it some time. That way you'll really get a proper feel for what a particular size feels like.
