kingsize or super king size in new build smaller room

Me and my husband have a double currently and really struggle to sleep well together. Resulting in him ending up in the spare room a lot.
Our room is 10.8ft wide and 8.8ft deep.
So we will have about 2.8ft on all sides of the bed.
We have built in wardrobes and will have bedside tables.
All other clothes will go in spare box room and our boys share with bunks in 3rd room.
So my question is... is king big enough or should be go super?
Looking at the measurements king doesn't look that much bigger than a double? ! But the the super is huge 😂
Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

We love our superking! If only I could fit soundproofing down the middle though...Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Is that 2ft 8in before or after the fitted wardrobes?0

A superking is 6' wide so you will actually only have 2'5" on each side of the bed. Will you be able to get the bedroom door open?0 -
The wardrobes are built in and with doors closed the room is the dimensions listed so after?
Yes we will be able to open and close the door and the wardrobes.
It won't be spacious. But it'll be our bedroom for sleep and relaxation. All clutter and clothes not in the cupboards gone to keep it clear0 -
Don't forget that the very large bedding may be harder to find and will be more expensive. Many shops just have single, double and king sized bedding.0

Bedding isn't to much of an issue. We have a king size duvet already and will continue to use this as it's huge as it is.0

I have a double (6'x4'6")- and it looked large - so I measured it. The whole structure is actually 6'9" long and 4'9" wide - which is why it looked so much larger than the double airbed that was there before.
And then the duvet cover takes up more room.
So, a bed doesn't take up the space that the measurements indicate - it's a lot bigger.0 -
I'd advise going for the king size. Having previously lived in a small new house of similar proportions I'm pretty sure even a king size will dominate the room and really is probably too big. If you go any further than that you might as well just turn the floor into a giant mattress.0

Thanks guys...think the main issue we have is we don't sleep well together in the double. The king is only a little bigger so I'm worried we'll pay out all the money for a new bed almost £1k and will still not sleep well as only gaining half a foot.
Atm the 3rd bedroom is full of old single which we could get rid of if we could sort out our sleep issues. Giving us dressing room. So I don't care if all that fits in the bed and side tables
Hmmmmmm this decision is hurting my head0
