  • Thank you so much for the lovely comments and again always being here.

The debts are now in single figures at £9911.09 and I have the whole year planned out on my spreadsheet. I have my debt payments written in my journal and I feel really focused. I've had 3 NSD's already and think I can continue like that. I am counting NSD's as I'm not spending money on anything unless it is in the budget. The day I did spend is today :( but for a good reason.

DD has had problems with her knee for about 8 years now. Her knee cap used to pop out (sorry anyone if this makes you feel ill) and they used to say it was lax ligaments and growing pains. On and off over the years she has had days where she can't put weight on it but it usually only lasts a day. Last Saturday she went to her BF's birthday party, did a bit of dancing, sat down for a minute and couldn't get back up. Her BF called me and I could hear her screaming in pain in the background. To cut a long story short we have had two trips to the doctors and two trips to the hospital in the last week and still no answers. We have an appointment this week at the fracture clinic and will hopefully get an MRI scan as the x-rays showed nothing wrong. She is still in a lot of pain so I bought an expensive pain relief today to try and help. Keeping fingers crossed she can get through her exams.

On a plus note the money that we have been putting away left over from the shopping has come in handy. We have over £40 in there and last week the kettle started leaking so we bought a new one and then I have nipped out and bought a tap shower mixer so that DD could get a shower as she can't get lie in the bath.

I'm still really enjoying work but found out the guy who works there has been going for interviews. I can do some of the work he does so if and when he does hand his notice in I am going to ask for extra work and a pay rise. If you don't ask you don't get lol. I don't want him to leave as we all get along really well but it would benefit both of us.

Part of the prom/car paid for with budgeted money so happy with that and still have money in my bank for future weeks until pay day which probably a year ago I wouldn't have done. I have got both of my colleagues using my budget spreadsheet and my female colleague has even started bullet journaling. She asked me how I knew about how to work out budgets and working out how to pay debts and in what order and I said MSE of course. So we are helping someone else even though she isn't on here.

Thank you all for your continuing support.

    Take care.

    Hi Tink,

Great news about your job and the possibility for expanding into your manager's role too.
You show how putting away even a small amount can really help things go smoothly.

I don't suppose you might share your budget spreadsheet?

I am using my new bullet journal to great effect. It sort of evolves into what you most need doesn't it? I wouldn't be without it now :)

    Have a good week

Ouch that does sound painful for your dd, fingers crossed for a quick recovery!

You are right to push for promotion at work, lightly (!) it can only go two ways, and if its a no it still shows your motivation to work up so they will expect you to apply in future. If its a yes then woohoo!

Well done on your debts, seriously speedy progress!

I love secret 'forgotten' accounts like that. I have set up standing orders that deduct the 'odd pence' from payments coming in, so 70p per week from child benefit, 85p from tax credits. My wages change too much with mileage so I cannot guarantee the exact pence. It all helps though :)

I tend to forget about my amazon account quite a bit, I will get vouchers from shop & scan and a trial company put them away and then am pleasantly surprised when I need something, its a nice feeling :)

Hope DD isn't feeling too bad, her knee problem sounds horrific. Did the pain relief work?

You are so back on it Tink, doing so well :) Fingers crossed for extra work and more money too - that would be amazing :)

I don't mind at all. I will send it over to you. It is pretty straight forward but the first tab is a blank so that you can keep adding months after December. If you need any help just shout.

I love that you have found your own way of using the bullet journal and you're right, it does evolve to suit your own personal needs. I have enjoyed this month in mine as I have added a habit tracker and I've been keeping it up to date.

    Take care.

I love the idea of saving the odd pence, I think I might borrow that if you don't mind. Can't wait to get my savings account opened, 21st June, and start getting an emergency fund together.

    Take care.

    Did the pain relief work

Nothing seems to be working at the moment, it's so frustrating. She has pain killers from the doctors, the pain relief gel and also paracetamol. She couldn't even stand the shower on it last night. She was still up for school this morning though for her exam so I'm very proud of her.

    Take care.

  • Quick lunchtime update. Have managed to get DD's fracture clinic moved to Thursday in between two exams. We have exactly 3 hours to get there, be seen and get back for her afternoon exam. If she misses it she fails, that's it. If we make it back while the exam is still in progress then she can join in. I will just have to stress how quickly we need to be seen.

I've paid another £40.00 towards my debt today and updated my spreadsheet. Thank you for all the support for asking for a pay rise for more work. I love it here so I don't mind if I don't get one, I'm still on more than last year lol.

I've got a little sideline business idea brewing in my head that I would really like to start but I need a bit of money to start it. Judging by my spread sheet I should have the money available to start it in September or October so I'm excited about that too.

Hope your Monday isn't as wet as it is here, rained all morning.

    Take care.

Good for your daughter for doing her exam despite being in pain.
Well done on the debt payment :)
