  • Is this firm complicit or entirely unaware of what Ledger and Simmons are doing?

Perhaps a journalist could ask the firm to come on here and tell everyone?

That is being addressed Kit. The company itself appears to be correctly registered with the FCA and Bloomberg confirms it exists.

The fund itself is registered in Dublin and is long established (06).

Jacobo Lanza is a director and is also on the website of the firm. A question which might well be winging its way to him is (if indeed, they are actually dealing with Ledger and Simmons) is "Why is a registered fund manager in Dublin working with unauthorised introducers?".

The fund itself seems to be an equity fund but it is offered in a fixed interest investment, and why does a fund, based and registered in Dublin, ask investors to send money to Dubai? The only Toby Ledger on the FCA Register, incidentally, appears to work at Barclays. So I guess he's been cloned.

I was contacted yesterday by someone who fell prey to these shysters very recently. They told the person that they switched to the .net domain for 'security reasons'.

You are right the Ledger and Simmons website implies a fixed interest deposit arrangement yet the fund on Bloomberg is an equity fund.

The website is now down http://ledgerandsimmons.net/ the .com one has also gone too.

The company which Ledger and Simmons has been using is a scam. Please, keep an ear and eye out for EQMC Ltd and take great care. For the moment, and to be expedient, I'm just going to post my status. If you wanted to clone an identity, you'd think that you'd be wiser than to use a boxing champ..

Finally, please.. although Kit (nice one Kit, are you a victim too by the way?) has pointed out that Ledger and Simmons has gone quiet, you can bet it'll be back. It's still on Facebook too. So, if you dabble there, complain to them that it's a scam.

  • No, not a victim, just following Laura Miller's articles in Professional Adviser.

Looks like one of the "team" is really a clone of an ex- Credit Suisse Fund Manager as well.
  • Do you mean ledger and simmons website has gone live again?
  • What is your advice should anyone be contacted by someone from this company? You say they obviously are dodgy to say to the least but should they not be reported to the Police for fraud?

If they have misrepresented the facts (which is fraud) then report it to Action Fraud.
