  • Hi,

Firstly, thanks very much to everyone who has shared information regarding Ledger and Simmons, because you saved me from loosing some of my hard earned cash. I am sure some of you are aware that means it is at least £10,000. So thanks very much for saving me.

But the real reason behind my message is to share with you my personal experience I have had over the last few days with a gentleman by the name of Jeff Simmons.

Last week I spoke to Jeff who is supposedly based out of Canary Wharf in London or at least thhat's the office address on the website. I sent a lot of questions to him over the weekend to get some more clarification and he spoke to me on Monday i.e. yesterday. He answered all questions very directly and professionally. However, when he asked if I am ready to start the paper work, I asked for another two days to think about it. He asked what's holding me back. I told him that I would like to discuss it with my family but also I would like to do the paperwork by meeting him in person in the office in Canary Wharf. His answer was some thing like well you know you can't these days just pass he reception and meet someone, we got security and they don't allow visitors etc. This really surprised me and raised alarm bells for me. Surely you can get visitors into your office. I wanted to meet him, because the business name i.e. Building name on the website does not match with the building name shown on the Google Streets photo. Having read all your previous messages confirming virtual offices, I can now totally understand why he made up such a silly excuse.

Here is more from my research. If you research the company EQMC, which is the hedge fund that would supposedly take investors' money, does not have a single employee in the world working for the company as per Linkedin people search. I found out that actually the company is set up by N+1 and there is actually a lady working for thr company on the N+1 website.

On the FAQ page of Ledger and Simmons a reference is made to Danske Bank Ireland. Again something which confused me. Not sure how they come into the picture. Again I did a Google Streets search on the Ireland address and found a decent looking office building but with hardly anyone n the street.

It all just sounded very strange until I came across your messages today thankfully. I was actually about to start the paperwork tomorrow and eventually would have ended up loosing a lot of money. I am very glad that I just managed to escape the fraudulent scheme this company is running.

Again, I would like to thank you all for sharing your research information.

It makes a nice change to see somebody do a Google a search on a company before handing over their money. All too often people only do so afterwards.

To protect yourself in the future never invest with anybody who cold calls you. Regulated firms are not allowed to cold call so steer clear of anybody who does.

I could feel sorry for the guy in these photos, as his name is unlikely to be Toby Ledger. And who knows, he may have nothing to do with the websites that uses his - seemingly professionally taken - photos.
Almost certainly stock images bought from an image library so yes, nothing to do with any website or alleged name associated with them.

Edit - Toby seems to have dispensed with the photo on his LinkedIn profile, must be reading these posts. It is from an image library "businessman in his office" and used by a lot of sites!

Fantastic news to hear that you've avoided losing so much money, makes all the posts here worthwhile even if it's just one person who has been helped by the warnings about Ledger and Simmons investments.

He probably realised it was copyright. Here's one that can't be copyrighted, which I think should look close enough.

Many thanks to you, and your mates, as well, Al. Superb piece of exposing another lot of scamsters, Ledger and Simmons. Or Ledger & Simmons LLP. Or whatever other name they are using for their company/companies.

I see their website is now "currently under maintenance". But who knows what other name(s) they might now be trading under.

I do hope their potential victims will find the warnings before they get scammed.

Good(?) to see the FCA took only(?) a month to add Ledger and Simmons to their warning list. I appreciate the FCA need to do due diligence before they add a firm to their blacklist. But they seem to be very much erring on the side of business, rather than on the side of often unsuspecting customers. How about erring on the side of consumers, FCA?

I complained to the FCA (and the PRA) earlier this year about their ongoing support to an obviously bankrupt Credit Union (a company trading as "DotCommunity Credit Union", based in Bournemouth, also trading as "Enterprise The Business Credit Union Limited"). The FCA took literally months to - quite unbelievably - turn down my complaint, giving a bunch of unintelligible reasons for rejecting it.

Somewhat funnily, the FSCS had in the meantime fully settled the [parallel] complaints from myself and a number of other victims, by means of paying me and the other depositors every penny, and interest, we had lodged with those charlatans.

Totally and utterly amazingly, as of tonight, the FCA register says "This is a firm that has stopped taking on new business but is still authorised and has to continue to meet our standards in dealing with its customers.". https://register.fca.org.uk/ShPo_FirmDetailsPage?id=001b000000MfM5mAAF

I am not normally one to criticise our regulatory system, but the FCA strikes me as one element of the system that desperately needs a reality check.
  • I almost got scammed but decided to do some final checks as the week before I had nearly been done a few weeks aho by a company called GetcoEurope allegedly based in Edinburgh. That didnt exist.

Anyway the reason for my messsage is I received an email from Ledger and Simmons 2 weeks ago changing their website to ledgerand simmons.net instead of .com. Also email address changed. So they havent disappeared yet.

They are certainly smooth talkers and even have a very professional brochure they mail to you.

    Be warned.

They're still at it, this company is now being used as a vehicle too.

And at about the time we started exposing them, lots of positive reviews mysteriously started appearing here: https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/www.ledgerandsimmons.com?r=&correlationId=f245c7da-5aa3-46bf-8690-77674215c5ff
