With standard PlusNet broadband we only got 4mbs at best Gloomendoom. Upload speed was pathetic though.
It's only a few months ago that we got fibre broadband as the local telephone exchange was too small or too far away or something. Initially we got up to 20mbs and it has dropped off a little now, but we are still very happy with the service we have received from them. We weren't led to believe we would get more speed than we actually have.:wave:0 -

If you would like to know what speed your line should be capable of then go to http://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ . After the speedtest click on "further diagnostics" and run the diagnostics test. There you will see a speed range. With Plusnet I only ever received the lower end of the speed range. With my new provider I receive the top end of the speed range.0 -

I get about 7-8 mb/sec with Tesco.. paying line rental only after retention call, several years as customer.
My mate has a local cable co setup, with some ridiculously fast connection- had about 100+ mb wifi, at the end of his garden! (dare not ask what he pays, mind).breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0 -
