  • I had no idea a different router would make any difference, at least another ISP router, but never had the drops before, and strangely since i changed to PN i am getting 8-10 nuisance cals a day, might just be coincidence ,but only since then, anyways its done now, and when i spok to TT this time it was a English speaking person that icould clearly understand ,also the STD code was a Hull one

You lot on here are so funny
    It's the same every time

ISP x has a great deal (ie CHEAP) so I moved to it
Now something does not work, messed up the move, speed slow etc etc etc etc.

Well sorry but what did you expect - stop chasing ever cheaper deals.
IT IS CHEAP SO IT WILL MOST PROBABLY BE SH*T
    Gettit?

In all seriousness if want a decent ISP then you either need to avoid the consumer cr*p and buy a business line rental/BB package.
Alternatively go for AAISP - but their prices will make you wilt - as that is what real service when fighting your battles with BTOR on your behalf costs.

I use A&A and they are excellent. However, most MSE readers won't like them as they don't have a "retentions" department and don't haggle on price.

I'm odd though as when it's something I rely on, I buy based on the quality of the product rather than its price. My internet connection is something I rely on, so no matter how many glossy brochures from BT or VM or TT drop through my letterbox, I'm not changing.

So why are you posting on a "money saving" site if it doesn't bother you to,pay more :rotfl:
  • just to say I have been with Plusnet for over 5 years now & I'm very happy with them. Any problems have been sorted out promptly, by people who seem to know what they are doing. Unlike my previous experiences with BT.
Ironic really that BT own Plusnet, yet the 2 companies couldn't be further apart in terms of customer satisfaction & value for money.

Granted, we bought a TP Link dual band router to replace the toy-town pink and white one we were provided with, but we get 17mbs with wifi. For us that is rocket-powered speed.

That is what we get with standard Plusnet broadband. No fibre available here.

That's if you can get through to someone at the call centre. When I have tried it has taken 40-50 minutes waiting just to hear a voice. The worst is when they transfer the call and then you have another long wait. How I hate that melody they play as you wait.

Whats the point in having a UK call centre if they take ages and ages to answer phone?
