Heartwarming tales of House prices

[QUOTE= I've been here a very long time (2003 I think). 12 years waiting to buy a house. I'm not bullish on property and I'm not bearish either.
I have had enough though - this whole debate has consumed YEARS and YEARS of my life and I'm almost certain if I sit it out till 50 (ten years away) I will be at point in my life where house prices will still be unaffordable and on top of that, Banks won't even lend me any money anyway.
I'm done, sitting on the sidelines, I'm going for the best fixed rate I can get and my partner and I will throw as much spare capital as we can find each month to bring it down.
Please don't think I'm swiping here, but most of you have been here as long as I have and I'm pretty sure you'll be having these same old conversations in 10 years. Good luck.[/QUOTE]
Can see "Frozen Out" getting a ban from Bruce Banner in the not to distant.

They all have a meltdown in the end. What's slightly sad is that given all the moaning of the Shortchanged and Graham_Devon's of the world the Countofnowhere's laughable campaign already exceeds anything they've ever done.
They ought to youtube it so we can see the expression on the Estate Agents faces when someone offers £90k for a place that's up for £450k.0 -

I hadn't really thought of that, fair play to him I guess. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I wonder what all those HPC bods are going to say in 5 years time, when the estimated average increase in prices will be another 30% ? All that rent they'll have forked out will look like money well spent! :rotfl:0

They'll be saying a crash is just around the corner, and one day of course they will be right, but as we both know the post crash price will still be higher than they could of bought for, not forgetting all that rent that they paid out too.Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -
simple truth is a lot of people cant afford to buy a house and they may never have the means even if they got 30% off.
these people used to be predominantly housed by the councils when the council stock was ~30% of the total stock of housing and I suppose a lot of people liked that enough not to complain about being renters. If you are a shop worker in London getting paid minimum wage but the council only charges you £300 for a one bed flat you probably going to be content
but the same person if renting a private house at £1,000 per month (even if they get £500 of it through housing benefits) isn't going to be so happy. especially considering the additional costs of being moved on every few years vs staying put in a council rental
if I were one of this group I would do my best to get a council house and just accept that my income was too low to buy a property rather than hope for a 75% house price crash allowing me to buy a house. or at least move to a place where even min wage jobs would make it possible to buy a house0 -

The Facebook campaign looks like a slow burner. It's not even caught the imagination of the hundreds of active HPC viewers.0
