Heartwarming tales of House prices

I might be in the HPC gang then because I've got a small mortgage on a house purchased in the nineties which, I understand, would now be a permissible price to pay. You started renting BTW at the same time.
When the crash happens I'm going to be buying the big retirement house. Problem is you lot have been promising this for so long it's obvious it's simply something you hope for and you have no clue whether it will or won't.
What are you going to buy when the mega bucks debt ponzi bursts?

..but when Crashy? It's been a long old wait hasn't it?0 -
Oh dear, poor deluded fool. No wonder he's so bitter. I bought my first house in the 90s (1995) and picked it up for £40k - £10k less than what the previous owner paid for it in the 80s. I sold it in 2002 for £140k

Crashy is 50 or thereabouts and sold to rent in the nineties so well qualified to be predicting house price movements.
I wonder if he completely misheard the person who said to him, the idea is to buy low, and sell high? If so, that would explain a lot!Chuck Norris can kill two stones with one birdThe only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he had made a mistakeChuck Norris puts the "laughter" in "manslaughter".I've started running again, after several injuries had forced me to stop0 -

My guess would be he sold for some reason in the '90's (divorce, arrears, didn't like the commitment, whatever) and never had the inclination to buy again.
I expect the idea that this was part of a grand strategy developed somewhat after the events.0 -

But why he is so envious and bitter towards those that remain homeowners? Jealousy or a serious mental condition0 -
My favourite section of the HPC forums is 'The Classics'

Funny stuff in there. Definitely worth preserving for eternity. :rotfl:Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

I can already see Crashy strolling into his local friendly EA's office to offer 36k on an Edinburgh 3 bed detached. :rotfl:Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0
