I'm considering swapping to talk talk from BT are they any better than they were 12 months ago???

Or are they still a massive no go?

many friends and family went with them and had loads of probs no connection and waiting forever despite promises was the main one
i for one WONT go near them
  • TalkTalk are a lot better than they were 12 montgs ago. A review last week was placed on here by Martin & his team outlining the improvements that talktalk had gone through and it clearly shows.

If your askin on a forum you are bound to have biassed results as people dont look for forums unless they want to complain about poor service. Most people just take for granted when it does work.

i get my bill via email every month never delayed always in the first week of every month

Its always the case where people will complain about a service but hardly ever praise a company if they provide a good level of service.

I'm with Talk Talk and the service is great! Very competative telephone and broadband service and has saved my parents a load of money!!!
  • I've said it before and I will say it again, in a word, USELESS!!!!!!!
EVERYONE I know who has recently swapped to talktalk has had delays, problems and been lied to, including me. The product is top notch but the Customer Service is pathetic. Any company that is prepared to persistenly lie to its customers should be shut down....... TT are no exception!!! BE WARNED!!!

    Hi there,

I thought I would add my two penneth!!

I joined Talk Talk for phone and braodband in May. Prior to doing this I searched reviews which were majorly bad but some good. My friend had recently transferred to them and had no problems so I decided to give it a go.

On the transfer date the phone went across with no problem. I didn't check the internet as I checked their progress of order online (at my parents address) and saw that it showed that Broadband hadn't been activated.

I rang Talk Talk to tell them I was waiting and they told me I had been activated for Braodband since the activation date. The gave me the settings for my wireless router in case it didn't do it automatically.

I set my wireless router a month up (not needinging settings given) and thought I would just try logging. Sure enough the braodband had been activated. Up until recently I checked their progress checker and it still showed as waiting.....

Anyway I have had no problems at all and as stated above customer service were very helpful but I appreciate I may have been lucky (from the posts above)

They also wrote to me recently advising me that they had introduced international calling free and also reduced my monthly fee for line a calls.

I must also add that I wasn't transferring from one provider to another as it was not supplied previuosly so I didn't require the MAC code or whatever it is called that you need to transfer Broadband.

Before anyone puts it, I do not work for them or affiliated to them in any way. I will quite happily post about bad service I have received believe me.

Answer to your original question it really is up to you whether to take the risk or not. Hope it helps a little.

  • It took them 5 months to fail to set up my mum - in fact they only did anything about it when she disconnected from them. If they don't provide the broadband they are in breach of contract. If they miss their first noted activation date, my advice is leave - they can't charge you for early termination if they haven't provided the service you signed up for.
Orange broadband have a good offer at the moment.
I'm not affiliated with any broadband provider, in case you were wondering.
    Friendly greeting!
