Yes i do work for talktalk but of courde do not get paid to post on forums like this. I;d like to point out that i am also a customer and havent had the need to speak to my own technical support or change anything myself..... it just worked.0

Talktalkboy, I for one commend you for admitting to working for the dreaded TT but you can't seriously expect us to treat you as an impartial advisor to the forum. You may not get paid to post but you most certainly have more than a vested interest in the company's future hence I for one would take any praise you may give with a pinch of salt.
That said, you seem to be geniune and I think that if Mr D employed more people like yourself, who actually SEEM to care about customers, we may not all be faced with such an uphill struggle. As I said in my posts, TT offer a great product (never dropped and never capped despite severely high use!!) but this is worthless when combined with such a lousy customer service who leave you high and dry at the first sign of problems. By all means, take the risk and dive in, just dont-come-a-moaning to us later when you are (most probably) shafted by the TT cowboys.0 -
OMG why would anyone want to inflick talktalk on themselves...
my SIL was with them until very recently...they wanted ME as she wouldn't talk to them anymore...ME a disabled person whom they knew I was disabled as I had told them so....they wanted me to run all over the house checking equipment when they knew the whole street was down...they said it was a fault in the house and everyone else's by the sounds of it they wanted to charge £150....the fault was with the exchange line box thing...little green box at the end of the road... a car had crashed into it...but still they said it was her fault...absolute rubbish...had to get bt to explain to them that it was in fact the box at fault and nothing in her house...why would anyone want to go to talktalk...my SIL now pays £24.99 a month that's for yahoo BB with line rental and free evening and weekend calls...talktalk don't do it...
Pls be nice to all MSer's

You would only have been chrged if it turned out that the fault was within the internal wiring of the house. As you say it was because of the car crash (BT do not notify TalkTalk of small incidents such as this) then you would not have been charged and BTOpenreach would have been out of pocket, not yourself.
I can see why you had frustration with TalkTalk as ... to me anyway it would have seemed logical that if this box was damaged and the whole street is offline then it was not your fault. However there is a general disclaimer that is given to all customers when a fault is passed over to BT Openreach to investigate.
This is done so that on the off chance that the fault is internal at least you have been pre-warned of the charges, it may not have been worded very well for you, but it is a standard thing which is told to everyone.
Ive not had any dealings with yahoo BB so cant really comment on them, i sisnt even know they did it. However i suppose this is good, if they are kept small it is easier to manage.0 -

Would any other ISP have handled this any differently. TalkTalk are not responsible for the phone line from the exchange to your property. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I look after many peoples internet connection and broadband faults and i have heard and know more problems with talk talk than any other.
If it's free what is the support going to be like... that's the main thing as you want to know you can get it fixed if it does go wrong.....

Ps i am not stating to go for any ISP as they all have there own features, good points and bad points.0 -
Being the 'IT guy' for family and friends, I've encountered more problems with Talktalk than any other ISP.
A classic being continued billing and debt collection threats after migration to another ISP. That was a fun one to sort out especially with the hour long wait times to the TT 'customer' service line.
Another being loss of service and unwillingness to take ownership of the problem (on an LLU line). I could go on...
I've now persuaded most people to move to other providers (Madasafish being a fav, with it's (imo) excellent customer service).

I have been with Talk Talk since they 1st started out (a few years now), before the broadband became available. I have never had any problems with them at all. I have never even had to ring about anything at all. They provide me a good service & I pay my bill on time - no problems.0
