I did my normal shop this morning and it came to just under £13 so I went round again and picked up stuff that I didn't actually need but that would keep until I did, I had reached £21 by this time, it was then a struggle to top it off to £25 but I'm proud to say that I still didn't get anything that I would not normally have got over the course of the next few weeks.

All I have to do now is find space for all the extras in my cupboards :rotfl:

I don't live in Scotland but the first week offer appears good to me. However you will find the savvy shoppers are putting through multiple translations In order to get the best value resulting in longer queues at the till.

Even Morrisons are wishing they never launched their card, they are even quietly not advertising it in store anymore.

well, the £ 15 limit is rubbish. I still only make any points there on petrol...

Lidl is a one-off I think, instead of the newspaper coupons Aldi's been having. Can't see them having a proper loyalty scheme where you have to register

OH was told in store you have to spend £ 25 in 1 transaction, that's not true then?

Yes people were putting through multiple purchases at my store and staff were advising them to do so. It doesn't take any longer really.

One person who didn't know about it spent just over £18.00 on wine and a few other bits, the lady at the til said if you make it up to £25 you'll get £5.00 off, just go and get a few bits if you want. It didn't bother me waiting the 30 seconds for him to go and get a few bits to make it just pennies over £25.

Yes you have to spend £25 in one transaction to get £5 off but you can spend £50 in 2 transactions and get 2 X £5 off.

My Lidl was heaving at 1130 Friday, 4 tills open when normally there would be 2 max at that time.

We did an £80 shop at Lidl this week on three separate traansactions. We bought meat - good value for money there. If anyone is short of inspiration, here's some of the things we bought:

Peanuts, (really nice and good value for money, in a white packet with blue writing, 48p a packet) hommous, philadelphia cheese, some American style pizzas which were 99p, celery, tomatoes, t-shirts (5 for £8.99, but be warned they shrink, so get a couple of sizes too big if you fancy this option), milk, chopped tomatoes, tomato paste, frozen fish, vitafit juice, sardines (I would suggest avoiding the skinless ones, but the others taste good), the cheap 39p for 100gm chocolate (forgot the name), baking stuff (they had a great range for baking, better than Sainsburys and Tesco), pastrami for sandwiches, baguettes. I tried out their drain cleaner too.
