I'm hoping this loyalty card hits my area now. Maybe more into it that I thought / or expected.

Exactly my problem. I am feeling very scared and emotional. I have stopped shopping in many supermarkets. If Lidl follow suit I will be even more limited.

It is a genuinely terrifying time.

    What??? I don't get it.

Apart from more plastic in my purse, great, if it benefits me at times when it's hopefully rolled out in the UK then it's a bonus, if it doesn't, well I haven't lost anything.

Checkout at Linthouse branch pointed out that I was a couple of pounds short of a discount, if I used my new card. So, bought some additional staples (in essence for nothing), used the card & will use it some more over these coming weeks. As with all supermarkets (except sainsbury-partick crow road coal yard branch) the staff are friendly & helpful and the product range is wide.

It's a loyalty builder, nothing on the backend apart from what card is used an how many times. If you don't spend £25 then yo will either need to stock up or accept you miss out.

No need to feel scared...this card is only a trial exercise, to find out people's shopping habbits, without actually having/ holding any of your personal details.
I should imagine they are also going to compare the rollout price of these cards with advertising money off coupons to n the national papers...to see if it is more economical etc...

Lidl are not fools like some of the other supermarkets.. And try and confuse people with so called offers and price increases.

So don't panic... No need to worry....

well I live south of the border and look forward to getting a fiver knocked off my monthly bill.Useful for stocking up, as I do once a month. But then living alone my monthly budget for food is only £60.00 anyway.building up a stock of staples for the winter oats, pasta, rice etctinned beans and pulses it would come in quite handy,I hope they roll it out throughout the UK

This "£5 off a £25 spend" offer is only for the first week - Different offers will run in different weeks.

Our nearest Lidl is ~ £5 worth of petrol away, so its unlikely we'll be using any loyalty card if it gets this far South:o
