I heard an announcement yesterday that Morrisons will start selling "Milk for Farmers" at 10p more than their normal milk and situate the two types of cartons beside each other. This will be an interesting survey of the feelings of members of the public I think.
I still have my milk delivered (only three pints a week now) and these pints cost something in the region of 60p+ each, but my milkman has been my milkman for 28 years. When/if he retires I'll probably purchase milk at the Co-op or at Booths which has a fair-price policy.
For my office I purchase four-pint containers from Co-op at £1.45 (iirc). I could purchase this milk at Aldi for 89p.
Anyone care to comment?

yup , so the announcement , 10p to (some) farmers , however they are adding an extra 23 or 24p per carton ,

That's interesting, the report I heard said 10p more, going "straight to farmers".“And all shall be well. And all shall be well. And all manner of things shall be exceeding well.”

Fairly obvious - a carton/bottle is generally 2.2 litres so 23p extra per bottle is about 10p extra per litre.Adventure before Dementia!0

 Its a swindle!!!!
Or it could be 10p per litre, not per bottle 0 0

The Milk for Farmers brand means a four pint bottle (2.27 litres), which now sells for 89p, will cost an extra 23p
Morrisons will sell a new milk brand which will see 10p per litre extra paid to farmers, the supermarket says.
 I stand corrected0

So long as its full fat - milk is milk. I tend to go for the cheapest on the shelf, I imagine a lot of people do likewise.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

the 10p per litre should have come from morrisons coffers , not the general public0
-
Call me cynical, but how do we know the extra 10 ppl is actually going to the farmers, and not just going to fund the Morrisons staff Christmas party ?0
