Hi Tilly,
Yes, I'm feeling very focused at the moment which is resulting in some good things happening in my life. Don't get me wrong, it's not "resting on laurels" time quite yet, but I'm in a much better place than recently.
Congratulations on 7,000 posts by the way!
Sarahevie,
What a fantastic way of looking at things! Going to borrow that with love!!!
Dalmatian,
Thanks for posting and welcome to my diary! Hope you'll stop by again, especially if you're bringing words of wisdom like in your recent post!
You're absolutely right - a broker is something I desperately need. In fact, a financial advisor would be a good start too. I need to make sure I'm making some sound decisions financially. A second opinion would be very valuable. I haven't actually applied to anyone, I'm just using mortgage calculators and reading pamphlets at the moment.
I love all the support you get on the forums and it's much appreciated everyone.
Thank you xxx

Money news:
Went to L!dl for some groceries and spent £16.19 but got a whole heap of stuff, including some chicken thighs, salmon steaks, salmon and hollandaise fish cakes and I treated myself to a lamb shank for tea. It was £3.49 but it's a little treat to me for being so brave whilst in hospital.
Plus I've got loads of legroom in my grocery budget so a treat is in order!!! :rotfl:
I've been doing some Deluxe Tilly Tidying on my YNAB budget (rounding up my direct debits to the next £5) so I'm building a bit of a buffer. Makes my monthly bills budget £1350, which includes car payment, car service plan, and boiler repayment. Eventually, I'll be living of last month's income.
Right, I'm off to do some tidying up as my house is a complete tip - working from home has a lot to answer for.

Morning everyone,
A day at my desk today and no need to spend any money as the freezer still contains adequate supplies, there's milk and fruit & veg.
Lots of work to do so I'll be at my desk for a lot of the day, checking in on here at break times! Got to get organised before Monday comes!
What's going on with you all today?

Some good news from Mummy Thistle
She has some money that she doesn't need quite at this moment so she's transferring it to my s123 account so I can get interest on it (her s123 a/c is maxed out). I will pay her rent each month out of the money.
Should earn me about £10/month in interest which she said I could keep. Her way of helping me out. She says if her flat sale goes through, she might be able to send some big pennies my way.
I love my mum - she's an amazing lady.

Changing my eating habits. Might even lose some weight too!
Focusing on filling up on cheaper stuff like potatoes and veg, whereas before I'd have had both fish cakes from a packet of two, or two pork chops. Leaving the other one for another meal. Big shift in my thinking.

I don't know why, but I'm feeling very lonely today. I can hear time ticking by. It's quite disconcerting. Is it because I seem to be the only person on the forums today.Mortgage at end 05/2007: £90200

Right, it's 16:06 and I've been procrastinating for too long today.
Going to see how much tidying I can do in the next 54 minutes.
