Yes, I'm the same re. concentration.
Sorry, you'll have to educate me please. I'm not familiar with YNAB. :(
I have lots of notepads and check my bank accounts nearly every day and shuffle money around as and when I need to.

    Hi TC,

YNAB is a program I have downloaded onto my laptop when helps me budget all of my money and keep me bang on track. It's amazing and since I started using it, it's saved me hundreds of £££ by stopping me overspending.

Basically you give every £ you own, a job by using categories that you set up to match your needs. Then you spend according to what you've budgeted, rather than by checking your bank balance.

There's a few great videos on yootoobe you can watch to get the gist. You can download a copy on a 35 day trial and then purchase. It cost about £37 but it's saved me much more than that.
If you sign up to the webinars (training courses basically) at the end of each one, they give away a copy to the "attendees" so you might bag a free one.

It's very easy to use and links to tablets and phone so you can be totally up to date at any point.

    I love it!:T

  • I've just become Treasurer for an organisation I'm a member of and I've spent all day today adding all the years transactions onto YNAB. I've set it up to act like a faux P&L and it's working beautifully.

I can see at a glance where all our income is coming from (including our £x/month giving scheme) and I've even managed to incorporate all our investment portfolios and track all our interest and dividends.

Just a few uncategorised transactions left to go (basically money being paid in with no reference) and were good to go.

Scary to be in overall control of nearly £200K. In fact it's making me feel queasy!! :rotfl:

  • Result on the car tax!
    DFW (08/08) £64,346.53 Gone (02/19)
    MFW (08/08) £118k Gone (09/23)
  • Result on the car tax!

    You're telling me.!!!

I bought the car from new in September last year so it was already taxed. Same model as the last one but brand new. Assumed the tax would be the same so dutifully saved £10/month to car tax in YNAB.
Thought the DVLA had missed the 1 off!

I could pay for 6 months but that'd cost £21:rotfl:

Or pay by dd at £1.75/month :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Hmmm, let me ponder.....:D
