Reasons to look forward to tomorrow;
1) Its Friday
2) I'm off work
3) I get to colour in another brick when the mortgage payment goes out.... feels like its been ages since I last did this!
After various quotes, decided to leave the kitchen how it is. I cant face paying £8k out of my savings just yet, so going to wait until we are MF and own the house outright before we start investing into renovations!Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
Wow long time no speak!
Its been a hectic few months. Been manic at work with projects, another exam passed and another taken, searching and applying for schools for DS and had a change of heart and got the Kitchen done.
Finances and budgets have gone out the window, so think I am just going to re-evaluate where I am at the end of the year and set myself some new goals in 2018.
On a good note, I have managed to continue saving my regular OP of £500 pm, which will go straight to the mortgage when the regular saver matures next yearTotal Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -

I'm back. Hope everyone had a nice Xmas
Update-
I managed to hit my 2017 target with £6k. £2.5K of that was officially OP'd but the remaining £3.5k is still in the regular savings account, so kinda cheating really as its not officially OP'd. But I stuck with my £500pm savings, so I am counting it. I will continue to put £500 away in the RS until it matures in May and then sweep it all in a lump sum over to the mortgage.... cannot wait
New 2018 goal.... this is a big one for me, not sure if its do-able yet but I'm gonna give it a bash. By Dec 31st I hope to have my mortgage balance below £75k while still maintaining at least £20k in my EF.
I also have to pay £4.8k off a 0% CC by March 2018 so my 2018 goal is going to be quite a challenge.
Have a great new year!Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -

Enjoyed the day off, but hate that my mortgage DD is delayed a day.
Online banking shows my daily interest is £3.77...... not too bad compared to what it was on my old rate!Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
Payday has arrived and monies have been moved to their dedicated homes. Happy to announce I have reached another milestone. £30k in savings
It will be short lived as I need to pay back my CC in the next few months, but I have never had that sort of figure all at once before. Roll on the 1st of the month for another mortgage payment.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
Woo! I think I'd log in every day just to look at that savings balance while it lasted, lol.0
