    Congrats on the exam!

Know the feeling on wanting progress before payday. :) I don't miss much from working in the US, but getting 2 pay checks a month was nice.

£100 scrapped together! combination of account sweeping, monthly current account rewards and jar raiding.
I do still have 2 current accounts that have yet to have DD's taken, so once they go I will assess what is left to see if I can sweep any more. I do like having a small buffer in them just incase though.

After DD's have come out, I have another £48.06! I physically can't bring myself to add this to the pot as its not a round number! Can't even make it up to £50 :) Might have to do some sofa change hunting.

It went very well, thanks to child benefit payment which I forgot about. Managed to reach £25k target this morning :)

It wont last as I need to pay back my 0% CC in December, so that's £2.5k gone, unless I somehow save £2.5k between now and then! not likely but I will continue to save and build up the pot so hopefully less of an impact come Dec.

So, washing machine has decided to pack in. Its old, so will give it some credit. And tiles have decided to come away from the walls in the kitchen! So my plans to get a new kitchen fitted with new appliances in the new year is coming forward.

Typical that my 0% CC is coming to an end. Hopefully will get some quotes and whack in a 0% finance deal somewhere.

Anyone have any recommendations for new kitchens? Should I just try everywhere?

We got our kitchen from IKEA and were really pleased with it. Yes, it doesn't look super high-end, but it didn't look too different from the other kitchens we saw (B&Q, Homebase, Wickes, etc). And we loved the flexibility of their cabinet innards..drawers, pull-outs, ability to mix & match, etc.

We paid ~£2,500 for our kitchen, then spent about £500 for tradesmen to do things we couldn't (plaster/electrics) and we installed ourselves (probably over the course of 2-3 weekends). It wasn't too bad, really, we could have done it a lot quicker if we'd been willing to take time off work to do it all in one go, and if we'd scheduled plasterer/electrician to come in for more than just a couple of hours at a time (to suit our only working on it at the weekends).

Also got 0% financing for 2 years on it, which was handy. :) Someone I know just ordered a kitchen and apparently now they're offering 3 years 0%. :j

Thanks for that, I wouldn't have even thought of IKEA if you hadn't mentioned it. I will throw this into the consideration pile.

DH has already booked some free no obligation companies to come in and measure up, create some plans etc so we can get an idea on cost. 0% is the way I want to go, whether its via the company or just another 0% CC.

It is always a nice surprise lol. I do feel guilty about adding it to the EF pot, rather than putting it in my sons JISA but the way I see it, once the mortgage is gone I can start saving for him on the side so when hes 18 he will have whatever is in the JISA to blow on a car, holidays etc and I plan to save up a house deposit for him when hes ready to move.
