Ok, I did it. I bit the bullet as they say.

    Daily Interest is..........£11.13!!!

I do not recommend anyone to work theirs out so early in the morning. It's a bit of a depressing start to the day lol

Depressing and motivating! What's you mortgage rate (around 3.5%?)? Now might be the time at looking to switch especially with your LTV, and even taking in account any fee for your fixed term.

Correct. Wish we had a slightly lower rate but we managed to fix it for 5 years so doesn't expire until 2017. It was a good deal for us as there was only a £99 booking fee and nothing else to pay. A lot of other deals require something like £999 up front.

I like to fix for at least 5 years so I don't have to deal with it every couple of years and not worry about it. It's not a problem for us, so will stick with it for another year and a bit, rather than pay an exit fee. To be honest I think I read in the T&C's you cannot even buy your way out of it. Too many people were paying exit fees to get on cheaper deals when the rates hit the floor and my lender put something in the T&C's to stop everyone doing it.

Instead I will try and find ways to save £11 a day (or as often as I can)

Think I need to take a leaf out of your book SJ and attack a bank again lol

Oh and forgot to mention, at the time I renewed our fixed rate online and got £400 cashback from the lender for doing it myself, so the deal was pretty decent for us back then.

Of course, the £400 went straight to the mortgage as an OP :)

After a lovely wedding we went to last night, I'm now £200 down. Can't believe the prices of the drinks. Nearly £14 for 2 drinks

On the bright side, its a lovely day outside, half of the house work done and out the way, washing is almost done ready to go outside and I'm sitting in the garden catching some rays

    Have a great weekend!

I'm in love with my new Terramundi Pot :happyhear

Going to keep my little electronic counting jar for my smaller change and anything £1 or bigger will go in my new pot.

NSD for me. Listing a couple of things on ebay in attempts to earn some money for my OP in September. No idea how I'm going to achieve a £500 OP without dipping into my emergency fund. Will keep you posted when it's DH's payday next week. Hopefully I will have a plan by then.

I found Tilly tidying to nearest £1 everyday has proved very fruitful. It'll probably get £20-25 a month - 3 days interest taken care of!

I might try it but almost of all my bills come out on the 1st so would def be a lot of whole £1's most days lol

Working from home today so a teeny tiny saving in petrol. Glad too as the weather is pants!

Going to lurk some other MFW diaries for inspiration later. See you over on yours SJ.
