    Morning All :)

July update- £500 OP made this morning (another brick to colour in)

Question for those who might know.
I have a 0% CC that needs to be paid off soon. I'm confused as to when exactly. Here's the tricky part.

My credit card bill is due around the 18th of each month
My next min payment is 18th July
My 0% interest deal runs out 21st July

Does this mean I can pay only the min payment for the 18th, then I don't need to pay the remaining balance back until the next month (18th August) without getting charged?

Or If I only pay only the minimum on 18th, from 21st July - 18th August do I get charged interest on my next statement? Should I expect to see a months worth of interest on my next August 18th Bill?

Does anyone know? I hope that makes sense. Obviously I will try phoning the CC company but thought I would ask on here first to see if anyone else might know.

You'll get charged from the 21st July onwards (and I think it goes based on the full original balance, ignoring anything you've paid off so far). I'd pay the min on the 18th and then phone up and get the exact payoff amount and pay that manually on the 19th/20th. Or if you're phoning anyway you could ask them to just clear the full balance with the payment on the 18th if you're not bothered by a few days' interest. Our last 0% CC ran out on the 6th or 8th of the month and we paid it on the 1st just to be sure that everything cleared by that time and there was no doubt about interest charges. (Better safe than sorry, I say.)

I'm on a change of name mission. Completely forgot I still need to change my name on things. Started off with the basics, like passport and bank accounts, car insurance etc but got sidetracked.

Driving licence change has now been sent off, hopefully will get that back in a few weeks. Trip to the bank tomorrow to update name on a credit card I forgot about and then need to work on letters to update my pensions. I'm sure there will be many more things I have forgotten about that will make itself known soon. What a hassle!

Money saving news.... £108 cheque receieved for my tax refund on my old car.

Money spending news..... too much. Going to pay off one of my credit cards this week (£3k)
Just brought house insurance which I am not satisfied with price wise. I did compare and look at cashback sites etc, but for what I wanted I still couldn't get it under £150!

I'm sort of excited to be paying off a big credit card, even though I have enjoyed stoozing the money for the past year or so. It will be a nice weight lifted as I hate owing money.

Hi Lippy, thanks for popping in on my thread!

You're so close to 5 figures now! We considered trying to aim for that in a year, but decided it was beyond our abilities (£112k now), especially as we want to go to the States next year!

Did you change that $115 back? If not, do it now while the £ is so low - you'll get back way more than you paid for it.

I'm still finding things I've not changed my name on - and we've been married four years now!

    Hi SJ

I probably wont do another at the moment. Only because I don't think my credit file could handle more credit currently. I took the plunge and finally brought a new car, so the leasing deal shows up on my file as over 5 figures debt £xxxxx added to my name.

Worth it though as my old car was giving up. It started having warning lights, not starting first time, intermittent window wipers not working, heating stopped working 6 years ago making winter months a nightmare to defrost, electric window on passenger side stopped working, broken seat adjustment, scratches all over it, speaker on the driver side of the car stopped working, radio signal never came through... it really was starting to fall apart.

Didn't bother spending anything fixing it as it was so old (my first car :( ) so decided I wanted a new car anyway. Managed to get £2k for it though on a scrappage scheme! Not bad considering I only paid £4k for it nearly 9 years ago

It was only getting me about £10pm after tax anyway, bit more once the £1k threshold came in.

I did an £8k stooze about 10yrs ago which effectively started my first ever set of OP's. Never revisited though.
