How much is the payout going to be? Why do you need the car?

It's the banks that freeze the account and not the OR and as you know Barclays don't freeze the Cash account and that is the reason we recommend them.

I agree with Alastair that separate accounts is the way to go.

The car is only £200. The payout is £250.00. I need a vehicle for work.

Can I ask why re separate accounts?

    Many thanks

As I mentioned above, it removes any financial links between you both.

    Hi,

Well DH and I are now officially BR. This morning was ok, we had to see the Judge but he was totally fine.

However, I have just had the initial call from the Official Receiver, who I found to be quite scary to be honest. We used the CAB for help filling in our forms and unfortunately the lady had left some details off and put some info in the wrong place, so she said we should have checked as it is a legally binding document.
We did check, and we did have to change a few things, but this process is so scary and a total mind field.
Because we have availed of credit since our IVA failed, that made for an unpleasant conversation. I honestly thought that getting a card after the IVA had failed was ok but seemingly not.
I asked would I get in trouble for that and she said no because it is mitigating circumstances and obviously because we had to buy fuel and food with it it would likely be ok. Being the massive worrier I am though, I've worked myself up into a tizzy.
We have been to the pub a couple of times with it - yes, I know, not the best, but you don't think straight when you're in this mess do you and I'm already under the Dr for depression and anxiety.
Could anyone advise? I'm so worried
Tia and thanks also for your good wishes today xx

Taking out credit when you know there is no reasonable prospect of paying it back is one of the things you shouldn't do, but as long as it's not been done to excess and was done because you basically had no choice if you wanted to be able to afford to live, then it'll be OK. Verbally slapped wrists in your interview is likely to be the most that happens.

Glad the rest went OK. :)

Thanks Fermi. I've already had a telling off from her. Just genuinely thought it was ok. The total is £2700. I'm so scared they'll send me to prison

That is NOT a possibility. Please don't think that for one second.
