How often do you clean?

I vacuum when I get a free weekend, so maybe every month or so. Probably mop the kitchen floor about the same.
Dust when I get round to it, so again monthly or so.
I do the pots when I cook in the evening.
I don't iron anything (I think I have one in a cupboard in the kitchen somewhere).
I think that I wiped the skirting boards etc a few months ago. I am not really sure.
I figure that I am only in the house every other evening or so and out pretty much every weekend all weekend. So its not too dirty.
I can't see an occasion when I would ever have to vacuum everyday! I don't even go into all my rooms in an average day lol.“Time is intended to be spent, not saved” - Alfred Wainwright0 -
We have no cleaning routine whatsoever.
I work shifts which can be random days and times so it's almost impossible to get a routine that set things are done on a set day so we tend to just do a little bit each day to basically keep on top of it and a deeper clean on days off.
The kitchen and bathroom get a quick wipe down and vacuuming is done most days but not the end of the world if a day is missed. Dusting is probably less often than it should be.
When I worked decent hours I did have a routine and kept on top of it much better. OH does try to do more around the house when I'm at work but he just doesn't do it to the same standard as me (will clean the bath but not wipe down tiles, vacuum the floor but not around the skirting, wipe kitchen worktop but not clean hob or sink) but I won't complain because it is a big help and less for me to do.0 -

I was the same before I lived with OH and before I had dogs, I'd do a quick once around once a week (less than an hour for the whole house) and a proper clean once a month and my house was probably cleaner than it ever is now. It's amazing how much more cleaning is needed when there is a second person and then pets, even worse with kids.0 -
Surprised at all those cleaning every day.
I clean the whole flat once a week. Obviously dirty dishes get put in the dishwasher and if I make a mess while cooking I'll clean it up but thats it. No where ever looks dirty so quite why it's necessary to do it daily is beyond me.0 -
Swept every day (all wood) and kitchen tidied every day. Washing gets done as and when, dishes get put into the dishwasher until full. Rug gets hoovered once a week, bathroom cleaned once a week. Dusting gets done whenever it needs it.
I wish I could get into the habit of wiping the bathroom down every day though as I much prefer it clean.
Never cleaned under the sofas, never cleaned the oven (only the grill pan). Oops.0 -

I have a busy house. Two kids, Two cats and a dog so I clean everyday. I know that I have a few issues with cleanliness in that my OH calls me Monica. Not something that I am proud of but I can not go to sleep until everything is done. I don't like carpets so we have tiles and wooden floors everywhere with rugs and carpet just on stairs. Everywhere hovered moped. Kitchen and bathrooms done at least once a day. Normally once everyone has used them in the morning and then before bed. A deep clean every week.
I have a friend who cleans once a week and TBH I wish I could be more like that. I know I spend far to much time cleaning but as I said I know I have a few issues with cleanliness/tidiness. I would love to be able to go to bed and leave the cushions not straight, or cups in the sink but I know I would have to get up and do them and my view is that it is always worse the next day.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0 -
Since i have changed my day to visit Mom i am in the house Monday through to Friday and clean every day. Weekends the most i do is feeding the three of us and washing up, grocery shopping and visiting my Mum.
Must admit the floor is covered in dog hairs by Sunday night but i'm not superwoman. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
