How often do you clean?

I'm not sure if this in the right place, apologies if not.
I'm wondering how often people clean their house?
We tidy every night, especially ds's toys away at his bedtime. The kitchen gets wiped down every evening. The dusting and hoovering gets done weekly, as does cleaning the bathroom, mopping kitchen floor, etc.
Saying that, though, ds has just had his birthday and there are currently toys everywhere

Hi, I tidy every evening and never go to bed leaving dirty dishes (sets you up for a bad day).
I would say, I clean the kitchen everyday, the rest of the house once a week and a major clean (wash down skirting, top of cupboards etc) about once every 3 mths.I must remember that "Money Saving" is not buying heavily discounted items that I do not need. :hello:0 -
Kitchen, living room and bathroom are cleaned daily. Basic clean such as hoovering, dusting, wiping down surfaces, dishes washed and put away, toilet and sink cleaned before bed, with a more thorough clean done once a week. Basically rooms where visitors would see. Bedrooms are done weekly.0

Flipping heck, really? I hate cleaning with a passion. Certainly wouldn't waste time doing it daily. Dirty dishes go in the dishwasher. That's my limit. I have a cleaner to do kitchen and bathroom and vacuum once a week.0

I don't count keeping the kitchen clean and the house generally tidy as 'cleaning' - it's just something I do every day once we've finished dinner (in the case of the kitchen) and before bed (the living room and bedroom). I generally do a light clean - hoovering, dusting, quick wipe round the bathroom - once during the week, and then a bigger clean (floors, windows, dusting) at the weekend. Other jobs get done monthly as required, and I have a list of longer-term 'organising' and maintenance jobs that get done every so often. Having said that it's only me, the OH and the cat so the house doesn't ever really get mucky dirty, it's more dusting and tidying.0

It depends how often any particular room or appliance needs cleaning.
EG, in the kitchen, the cooker and fridge only need 'blitzing' once a month, but the floor needs cleaning twice a week, and the sink needs cleaning daily.
In the lounge, it needs a deep clean once a fortnight say, but needs a little dust and polish over it every other day, and a vacuuming 3 times weekly maybe.
Then the doors and white goods and skirtings may need a wipeover once a month...
The bathroom is cleaned lightly twice a week, and has a deep clean once a month, but the loo needs cleaning every other day..
The bedrooms are blitzed twice a month but cleaned lightly twice a week.
So there is no one answer to the OP's question.
We clean something when it needs cleaning. You didn't, did you? :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Clean the kitchen every day
hovering downstairs every day, upstairs once a week
Bathrooms clean every day (just a five min clean each)
Steam clean the floors every couple of days
polishing every other day
Wash bedlinnen every weekend0 -

The daily cleans are just the basics, easily done jobs that take literally minutes, so not really wasting time, just keeping up standards (I'm not saying you don't have standards of course  Just meaning keeping up MY standards), and a quick run over with a Hoover and a wipe takes hardly any time at all but ensures everything is neat and tidy.
I enjoy some aspects of cleaning, but not all. I'd begrudge having to pay for a cleaner when they are jobs I could so easily do myself....ironing on the other hand, I can't stand doing that!0 -

I cleaned the oven last week, what an awful job that is!
Completely agree. I had some time off last week and decided to tackle our oven, which came with the house and hadn't been touched for a long, looooong time. Oven Pride is fantastic stuff and there's a kind of grim fascination in watching the gunk slowly come off the racks after you've bagged them up, but cleaning the oven itself is a thankless task that just seems to take forever. It's not money-saving, but I'm seriously tempted to just pay someone to come in and do it next time ...0
