First Plusnet customer wins!

Options
I'm in the process of signing up to Plusnet and it's asking for a name of a recommender.

I don't know anyone on plusnet, so the first person to give me their plusnet username will go in the box. It says you will be rewarded but I don't know how much this is.

Thought I would share the love with someone on MSE

Couldn't possibly recommend Plusnet. Hope you have a trouble free experience. I and loads of others haven't (rated 3rd worst internet provider on Trustpilot)

Have you actually been a Plusnet customer, it was only a few days ago that you were asking about their service, people then told you to ignore Trustpilot reviews as they are not very reliable.

Yes I have but have just left them for appalling service such as:
    1. Charging me for 80/20 while supplying 40/10 broadband.
    2. Trying to slam me into a new contract without telling me.
    3. 40/50 minutes wait on the phone to get through to customer services.

    I could go on.

As for Trustpilot I accept that people will post there experiences but Plusnet are one of the worst rated and come well behind the other providers.

Just to put things into perspective and another point of view about Plusnet, I have been with them for nine years starting on ADSL, then ADSL+2 and for two years on unlimited FTTP 80/20 which has been superb with never one drop of connection or any speed issues, in that time I have had two problems both were sorted out quickly and efficiently by their customer service staff who unlike other ISP's are based in the UK.

Unfortunately people usually only get feedback from the unhappy customers and not the majority that are happy with the service, would I recommend them, based on my experience, yes.

Thats if you can get through to the customer support. My minimum wait time was 30 minutes. Max 50 minutes and problems still not resolved. I used to be a happy PN customer and would have been happy to stay with them if they had resolved the problems that THEY created, but alas service has rapidly gone downhill.

I would agree with that. The Community forums are full of posts from long standing customers unhappy with the way things are going - long wait times for telephone support, ticket system all but removed for online Chat, reduced support times.

Many of their long time customers are now leaving.

Hmm methinks a slight exaggeration, looking on the forums there are just a handful of long term customers who are talking about leaving, once again people that post on their forums are a very small percentage of their customer base, I don't see people leaving in droves.
