Hidden & SJ - interesting article which seems to suggest FD do reward loyalty, though it is a few years old

Fits my experience with my lender as well :)

Great knowledge for later this year!

    Interest from accounts in today - £14.64 Club LL0yds and £7.29 T$B.

Mortgage paperwork arrived, signed and returned. ERC paid  New rate should take effect 16th January. Money shuffled to re-fill the Club account as far as poss.

T@lk T@lk discounted year has come to an end, need to phone and see what new deal I can get out of them.

On top of all the usual financial checks and DS's pile of letters from first day back at school. Parents eve next week - am asking for slots after 6.15pm to take advantage of free parking from 6 :)

NSD, need to do a food shop tomorrow evening as almost out of fresh supplies again after good old fashioned Toad In The Hole and veg tonight :)

Pleased to hear you've got the mortgage sorted. :)

Regarding your 'phone, call your current provider than check what deals the other ones are doing, then call your original provider and see if they'll beat it.

    Doesn't school have a carpark?

Thanks Alex - yes, I need to shop around for the phone and broadband which ties in with can I get DS to part from Sky too. An annual battle :)

No car park for parents at school. Only a 2 min walk from nearest public car park and avoids getting into the one way system and extra mileage :)

Drown our sorrows together - it is gutting after saving so hard to build it :( We'll be better off in the long run though :D

It's quick and easy to change product with the same lender if there are no changes to the mortgage (ie term, type, amount) at the moment as didn't get caught up in any of the new rules - that's changing in March though, hence doing it now.

Mortgage is with the Spanish Bank - got a standard current account there just to pay the mortgage interest DD through. Minimal amount stays in there to keep it valid :)
