Had a mortgage too long - it's going, going, gone!

Continued to be a productive day and much achieved on the work front. Back in the thick of it now and billable work looks reasonably good for first week back
Got organised and put braising steak in the oven for dinner, put colour on hair then did 30 mins on the exercise bike. Terrifying image I know
Nice bath using Christmas smellies tonight.
Changed DS's Reg Saver amount downwards, but left my TSB one at max as can access that instantly if need be. Savings are nearly going to disappear with paying the ERC and the car a few months apart, so OPs will be minimal initially on new mortgage until I've got the emergency fund off the ground again. Far from ideal, but a short term solution for a longer term gain
Have maxxed out my brain with spreadsheet fiddling this weekend :rotfl:Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
I have to confess no OP limits are a must for me and where the deciding factor last year between FD and NW, who had the same rate and no fees.MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

We went with FD originally because they had the best rate at the time, but as it appears they're the only (?) big bank that allows unlimited OPs on a repayment mortgage I'm really glad we ended up with them!0 -
Hidden I'm just hoping FD give a nice loyalty reward!MFW: Was: £136,000.......Now: £47,736.58......0

Hi Ali-OK, caught up with your diary. I agree we face many of the same issues. I have an ex dh who is moving abroad at some point this year and I have a feeling will stop paying maintenance. Technically I think exes should pay maintenance till the August after the child is eighteen (if still in full time education), however if they are abroad I guess it is pretty hard to chase up. You are very organised with all your savings accounts and spreadsheets!Mortgage Dec 2015 - £21545 Apr 2016 - £19930

They do have lower fees for re-mortgaging (which I only found out about over the phone, but you can see if you put "existing mortgage customer" rather than "remortgaging" into their mortgage comparison form).
I think they should give us a kickback, though, for plugging them/their services.0 -
Wonder if FD would have me in 5 years time! Aiming for £47k left at that point and will also want unlimited OPs then
DFOD - Been years since I had faggots, great idea. :T
Clarey - Thanks for popping inReally feel for you with facing very similar circumstances and I hope he does the right thing
.
If your current arrangement is formal through CSA/court and the country he is going to is on 'the list' then they can take up the case for you (it could be old news as that was 2012 rules).
Good to know about contributing up to end of education/18, I'll cross my fingers and see what happens
Am getting to the stage between being organised and confused with too many accounts :rotfl: My budget spreadsheets go back to 2003 and am sad enough to look back occasionally and see how much things have gone up or down since thenBack on the DFW Wagon:

Hidden & SJ - interesting article which seems to suggest FD do reward loyalty, though it is a few years old
