    Thanks 80934, qoc & Rosie.

I don't think I can personally hand in my cv as it's through job centre plus & it's not clear who the job is with.

I'm going to book an online course Rosie thankyou as I will need it to have better chance of interview.

Thankyou qoc I may just take you up on that. I have some gaps but in truth have always worked from home for oh.

    xx

This is a more authentic recipe

    Ingredients

    • 100g / 4 oz mixed butter and lard
    • 225g / 8 oz self raising flour
    • Pinch of salt
    • 75g / 3 oz caster sugar
    • 75g / 3 oz currants
    • ½ tsp mixed spice
    • 1 tsp honey
    • 1 medium egg, beaten
    • Prep Time: 15 minutes
    • Cook Time: 6 minutes

    • Total Time: 21 minutes
    • Yield: Makes about 20 small cakes

    Preparation

    • In a bowl, rub the fats into the flour and salt until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
    • Stir in the sugar, currants, mixed spice and honey.
    • Add the beaten egg and mix to form a firm dough.
    • On a floured board, roll or pat the mixture until about 2cm thick.
    • Cut into 6cm discs and griddle over a medium heat until golden brown on both sides.
    • Dust the Welsh cakes kwikkkth caster sugar and eat immediately or store in an airtight tin.
Welsh cakes are best eaten while hot but will keep for up to 10 days in an airtight container. You can also serve them with lightly whipped fresh cream and preserves.

Recipe courtesy of True Taste of Wales.

Just came on to post my nains.recipe.its practically the same.though we only use butter and not lard. It also has a little milk to mix.
Never Had with cream may try it.. they also freeze well, the boys defrost and stick them in toaster to heat through. Just for a minute so the butter melts when they spread it. Xxxx

Hurrah - got through my eBay listing fear :o

Loathed having to try & block overseas bidders in 4 separate ways & still they bid :eek::eek:

But I'm drowning a bit here in stuff that would be useful to someone else but not acceptable as raffle prizes :o:o

So decided to offer overseas postage :) Took everything into Post Office first & weighed it all & worked out signed for international rates.

Listed & sold everything :T:T - to UK buyers :rotfl::rotfl:

that's a good idea - to offer overseas and signed for - it makes the UK postage look cheap by comparison :D

Morning all. Hope everyone is well.

Been struggling lately as my life has so many restrictions that it sometimes feels hopeless. Any how been racking my brain as to how I can move forward and I've come across a job I'm nearly sure I could do. Would get me out and mixing with people. Only trouble is my cv is obviously not great and the ideal candidate would have food hygiene cert which I don't. If I could get an interview I would stand a better chance I think but that's the hard part. Usually my cv is just discarded. Any tips please ? Tia xx

I don't know anything about Food Hygiene certificates......but I'm sure you could tackle it and pass:j it might also give you confidence moving forward.

I think we always assume that other candidates are more qualified than we are, but it really isn't the case. You are a fab people person, have great communication skills and are caring and helpful........and that's just what comes over on line. You are right if you can get to the interview stage, I'm sure you can nail it.:)

Is it worth just applying for a few positions to get some interview experience? So when the right job comes along you may feel better placed.

    Good luck cjj:T

And shout if you need any advice:)

    I hate ebay:o

Miserable weather here. Completed the first run though to the station to drop off the first visitors returning home:o:)

Great news......the bridge is open....it's been shut for weeks as new pathways were built and getting through Durham has been a nightmare. There's a huge sign up.....Bridge work completed 3 days early:T:T:T

    Well done guys:T
