Yes TM grandson is in the US. All Hubby's family are around 6ft & over. After his generation all the kids nieces & nephews, apart from Molly who is 5'11" are over 6'2". Hubby is 6'3" but I swear Jake (Molly's hubby) is about 6-7" taller than hubby. They're a really handsome couple. We're both itching to get over there soon. Our grand-daughter from 6'2" mother is 10 and well over 5ft.

The trouble is when they are extra tall is often other people think they are a LOT older than they are and expect them to act the age they look, not the age they actually are. To think Owen was in the ICU unit for 3 weeks after he was born prematurely & we were all so worried he wasn't going to make it. Less than a year later he looks like a 3yr old! Amazing!

There is a cruise & stay going 6th October for just £699 with free booze too and including flight back BUT we can't go as hubby may be having knee op Oct/Nov - they won't give him a date. I'm REALLY itching to book it but can't.

Grandson - they can't keep him in clothes, he just has been outgrowing everything in weeks. Thankfully Jake has a great job & I taught Molly couponing when we were last over. OMG Target is WONDERFUL for couponing. Molly announced loudly at the till "I'm going to try extreme couponing" I nearly died when she said that BUT the girl said "Give me all you've got" After 1 coupon was refused she went on with other ones until a bill of over $100 for nappies, baby wipes etc. went down to $3-4. AMAZING! The check out assistants are SO happy for you too. Beats here hands down. Molly enjoyed it too so hopefully is still doing it. She was a few months back & I must ask her again if she's still doing it.

TS - you'll actually get a FAR better exchange rate in Turkey than here.

OMG Bakestones - my Nan used to make prize winning bakestones (Welsh cakes, for those of you not from around here), never seen any rise like hers. They'd be over an inch tall & moist & succulent. She never measured anything, just threw it in the bowl. I do know she used to use Birds Golden raising powder - I'm sure I saw it in a Home Bargains a year or so ago & I should have bought some. Haven't seen it since. Those little bullets they sell in Braces & elsewhere are dry carp compared to my Nan's.

Dippy - how horrid for you. My aunt married an Italian in 1950's & my grandad wouldn't speak to her at all afterwards. How crazy families can be! Thank goodness you can choose your friends, wish sometimes you could divorce your relatives.
