Thank you. I'm doing online grocery orders. Last week I was shuffling down the stairs and having things like quiche and salad, jacket potato and salad etc. This week I can just about make it downstairs, then all energy gone, so just been having something like a cheese sandwich.
Have had bloods taken today (traumatic, no veins, cried, she did eventually get one in my hand but said she'd never seen such a slow trickle of blood!). Feeling less down than yesterday, slightly more energy, although not actually been downstairs yet. Had belvita biscuits for brekkie that kids brought me up, then friend came and cooked me 2 crumpets, which were lovely. Will think about going down for lunch soon and just see how I am when I get down there.
Thanks to everyone that has commented. Honestly, you don't know how much it means to me. :A
Wish I lived nearer Ls. Would sort your lunches out for you xxCherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

Morning all.
Busy day today. Got to take Mum to hospital to visit partner as her lift has let her down and she is far too fragile to drive herself. Spent an hour on the phone trying to lift her spirits a bit, and to get her to eat. She is only little, and has lost so much weight. She weighs about 6 stone now and looks so ill. I cried at how she looked when they got home from holiday at the end of June, and she's lost a stone since then.
Hospital wants to send partner ( D) home, so need to get them to provide a hospital bed so he can be cared for properly. It will have to go into the lounge as he is not to go upstairs. They said er would get a care package, but have given no details. I'll have to speak to someone today to find out what is going to happen.
I'm feeling quite low and tearful today, so looking forward to a meet with VT this afternoon. She cheers me up no end. We're having our pre cruise pedicure. Talking of the cruise, I told Mum I would cancel it, but she is adamant that I still go. The situation with D is that it could be sudden, or lingering. No one can tell, so she felt that I could cancel, but nothing may happen in the week we're away. I can keep in contact quite easily, so feel reassured about that.
Sorry to put my thoughts down on here, but I know lots of you have been in similar situations, so will understand how much it helps.

Sorry to hear your news. My sister & I nursed dad at home on a hospital bed in the lounge in his final weeks. He had a view up the Conwy valley through one window and of Conwy castle and the Great Orme the other. He also had a care package but he refused to let anyone other than mum, sis & I look after him. The nurses phoned twice a day to see if we wanted them and when he was unconscious we had them come once a day. They wee very good and apart from an issue with one we were really grateful that they were there if needed.
We had Macmillan nurses some nights so we could get some sleep. It wasn't at all odd having him in the lounge, we still had family meals, in fact we saw more of each other and my bro and were able to laugh and remember the good times.
It was what dad wanted and we promised he would not end up in hospital/hospice. Take advantage of every bit of help that is offered.
Off to another funeral next week! The gentleman was in the papers the last couple of weeks, he was a well known diving instructor and died while on holiday in Spain and died while diving in a wreck. Still don't know what happened. He is my cousins husband and mum wants me to drive her to Derby for the funeral.0 -

Absolutely lashing with rain here now..... typical Irish weather!!
Poor dd still has 2 matches.....they play in rain hail or shine.
Just wondering, those who have had c&c orders cancelled upon arrival to collect and then subsequently, their account "temporarily suspended" I have a question.
Even tho they cancelled the order, the amount is still pending on my bank account. I know from previous orders that this is always the case for a few days until they take the payment. I would have thought however that as the order was cancelled by them, the payment would just simply be cleared and no longer hanging in the ether?
I know a few have been in this position. Did you have to ring or did it just clear after a few days as it normally does with c&c?
TIA
I had to cancel one for today as I've spent all morning being sick.
Waiting for the amount on my bank account to go back in and my evouchers.0 -
