Tesco "to be more competitive"

It's pointless comparing own branded products unless you break down the ingredients exactly, the proportions, where they came from etc.

Hehe - are they saying they've reduced it from £3 to $4.99?0

Luckily there is a lidl being built just round the corner with a large car park so by the end of the year I'll never have to go to tesco again.
Yup, same here.
It's just as Tesco says, Every Lidl Helps.0 -
At my holiday caravan in Norfolk there isn't a great deal of choice in supermarkets within an acceptable travelling distance. As a result we mostly shop in Tesco. IMO they are definitely getting keener in their pricing - especially with fruit and veg which used to be noticeably expensive.0

Tesco "to be more competitive"?
Great! Does this mean that they will no longer increase the price of a product for a couple of weeks so that they can later reduce the price back to where it was before? Dream on!

I think they need to keep checking that their 'offers' on shelve match what's on the till database..
so many (even the ongoing £3 sandwich deal) sometimes doesn't calculate right..
Are they trying to con us?breathe in, breathe out- You're alive! Everything else is a bonus, right? RIGHT??0 -

I pointed out to twitter that I was overcharged (Again) at Tesco and it concerns me that they simply send someone over to check the price shown on the shelf and then refund you. They person checking the shelf never corrects the price on the shelf and / or on their system.
They apologised and assured me they would get onto the specific branch.
I popped in the same shop a week later and was overcharged for the same item again.
I tweeted them about this again and received a voucher for them wasting my time.
Moral of the story always check your receipts (It's very easy to scan through to check the prices you were charged) if there are mistakes get on to Tesco on Twitter and they may send you a voucher0 -
It's always a good policy to check your receipt BEFORE you leave the store.Occasionally the prices on the rack don't match the prices at the till. (Not only in Tesco's either). If there is a discrepancy, it means you have to go to the 'cigarette/lottery counter to get it sorted which inevitably means another queue.
Don't be too complacent in Lidl either. They have been known to charge for two items instead of one on more than one occasion.
Always check!.
