Alternative to Microsoft Money?

Microsoft Money does work perfectly with Windows 10 if you make the changes detailed above.
No reason to switch back. I switched from Windows 7 and am really enjoying Windows 10 (having sorted out some minor problems where I googled and found the solutions fairly easily)
I accept that it works with Windows 10 after the 'fix' but I'm not convinced that it will continue to work after future updates, or that the registry change won't create problems elsewhere.
I like Win10 too - but MMs too precious to lose for the sake of it.0 -
Vendor Lock In, anyone? It's been a long, long time since I've relied on Windows-dependent software and a long time since OS-dependent software. I reckon I could reliably move to a new money management package with 4-8 hours work, I say that having done it every few years. Really chuffed to see the Registry still popping up as the devil/saviour in Windows land 20 years later, fabulous!0

Any recomendations for non vendor lock in options?
Only ones I know of are KMyMoney and GnuCash (in that i do believe you can export all transactions, but again DYOR).
I think both work on Windows, but not completely sure.Goals

While the latest edition to the program from their website was released on the 4th June 2015.

It does appear to get annual updates albeit minor ones on an annual basis. For those stuck in the last decade they even offer a pocket pc version0 -
The AM support team responded to a low priority question from me within 4 hours, and on a Saturday.
There is also a lively user group on Yahoo Groups, and a smaller AM Forum in a format similar to the MSE Forum.
Way more than we had from MS Money for the last 10+ years. And let's face it - there isn't an awful lot that needs changing once the basics are in place. It's "under the covers" stuff, such as ongoing OS compatibility, and we do get that with AceMoney but not with MS Money (for some unfathomable reason).
You can go up and down the internet looking for reviews and experiences on personal finance software. I have not found anything better than AceMoney for people looking for a replacement for MS Money. I have posted before that if you start with a clean sheet, you might opt for something that looks snazzier, like YNAB - - - but no amount of snazzyness will provide MS Money import facilities. Some of the hip stuff also has limitations, like they "don't do" investments.0 -
I've been a happy user of Acemoney for many years. But on a lookout for a replacement, mainly due to a lack of a ios app.0

This could be worth checking - and might suggest that Microsoft have been listening to their customers.
There was an update last night. I checked this morning to see if Microsoft Money works - and it does!
Was planning to revert to 8.1 this morning, which would have been a great shame, because I much prefer 10. No need now - I hope this lasts.0 -
YEA !!!!! MS money is now working on W10 after todays update !!
thanks for listening MS, now I can save 12 years of banking data

MS Money alternatives creeping out of the woodwork all of a sudden. I have come across 2 others in the last couple of days that are literally identical to MS Money. Neither of them have the detailed import guide that AceMoney has but I have a suspicion that the AceMoney import guide would essentially work for all of them.
I have downloaded the trial versions of these two new ones but not used them in anger as I am quite happy with AceMoney. Would be good to hear from users of the two, particularly those users who have migrated from MS Money. All have trial versions so you don't have to buy blind.
http://www.banktree.co.uk/ - this one has a very distinct UK 'flavour'. It is pre-populated with UK banks (but doesn't download statements/transactions), is sold by a company with a UK address, and the video user guides are narrated by an english lady. It seems to get updated very regularly and there appears to be a working support facility (which I have not put to the test). It also makes sharing / synching data easy (using Dropbox). Price comparable to AceMoney. Not sure whether you have to buy 2 licences if you want to use it on your PC and your mobile. If I were to migrate again, it would probably be to them.
