Alternative to Microsoft Money?

Does anyone have a view on how safe it is to mess around with the registry to force Money to work again?
Isn't that a risky strategy?0 -
I have turned into a complete AceMoney fan now as it does everything and more than I could do in MS Money. Paid my £25.84 for a full licence this morning, which means I won't need to worry about MS operating system versions any longer.0

That's possibly a slightly rash statement, but let's hope it's true, especially if I follow your lead!0 -
I've been using YNAB
Tried the free trial initially wasn't sure then purchased it recently
With a little self spending control and downloading bank statements it really has made a difference.Replenished CRA Reports.2020 Nissan Leaf 128-149 miles top charge. Savings depleted. VM Stream tv M250 Volted to M350 then M500 since returned to 1gb0 -
YNAB is alright if you start from scratch and don't need to import several years of data from MS Money. I think it's also not a lot of use for investors.0

Disappointing that MM won't work with Windows 10. The reports on AceMoney are interesting - as would be any further feedback from users.
For now, though, I'm reverting to Windows 8 (easy if you do it within 30 days of switching to 10) - Money is far more important to me than Windows 10.
Hopefully, in a few months time Microsoft will have resolved the issue (there's an opportunity for people switching back to 8 to say why, and I'm guessing a fair few will give Money as the reason) and I'll switch back to 10 at that point - it's still an option.
Anybody else feeling the same way - remember, the chance to switch back to 8 lasts for only 30 days.0 -
I am still delighted with AceMoney as it works the same as MS Money and I haven’t found a downside yet.
I didn’t want to risk my computer by messing with the registry so briefly pondered whether to roll back to W8.1 but decided that I would have to upgrade eventually and after a year MS is going to charge about £100 for the upgrade.
Also as MS Money has not been supported for a long time now it is not likely that MS will give any priority to resolving the issue in the foreseeable future as they will be too busy dealing with other issues,
All in all I decided the easiest thing was simply to pay 25 quid for an up to date supported program and not to have any worries about future compatibility or lost historic data.0 -

Microsoft Money does work perfectly with Windows 10 if you make the changes detailed above.
No reason to switch back. I switched from Windows 7 and am really enjoying Windows 10 (having sorted out some minor problems where I googled and found the solutions fairly easily)0 -
The last update on the Ace Money Facebook page is three years ago so I would be a little wary of jumping out of the frying pan and info the fire...0
