Alas, the import has been a total disaster for me. There are so many errors, I don't think I can be bothered correcting them manually as it would take me forever.

Lots of accounts were imported with USD even though I do not have any USD accounts in MS Money. My Euro accounts were also imported as USD accounts.

Some balances are vastly out - some accounts show zero, some 3 times the amount that's in them.

My investment accounts didn't export at all from MS. And there seem to be tons of other issues.

It's a real shame as the functionality of AceMoney looks brilliant. I just can't possibly live without my history data.

Thanks for trying it, saves me doing it. Presumably you will now be trying to get back the money you spent on it, which might be a bit tricky but I think you'd have a SOGA case.

Nah, they do a 30-day trial version so I don't need to ask for money back. I would try it if I were you, as your mileage may vary, and the product does really look good. I have written to their support to ask whether they have any suggestions for me.

What a pity. Looks like I was lucky with my migration.

I had same problem opening Money after Windows 10 upgrade and came across the following answer very slightly different to the one quoted here, and it worked perfectly:
So, to clarify, in order to resolve the error: [updated 8/2/2015 to include 32-bit variance]
    1. Open Registry Editor (RegEdit).
    2. Navigate to the following registry key for 64-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
      or for 32-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer
    3. In the right pane, look for Version registry value.
    4. Modify the value data to 9.11.10240.1638 so that it contains no more than 15 characters.
(Sorry I'm no good at posting links, so had to copy and paste).

To those, like me who didn't know where to find Registry Editor - right click or tap and hold START button (bottom left) select RUN. In search box type regedit then ENTER. Follow above instructions from there. Warning be very careful while in Registry Editor, you can cause serious problems.

Anyway I came across another MONEY problem later - the dates in Money were shown in the US way, month first. To correct this you have to go into CONTROL PANEL, select LANGUAGE, and move English UK to the top IF your system is showing US first. Even though ENG is already showing at the bottom right of your desktop screen.
  • On my wife's PC, still running W7, I downloaded Money2005, installed it and copied my current.mny file to that machine, double-clicked and bingo.
It would still be good to have a solution to the Win10 problem I began with this morning.

OK, that's good, I only got as far as seeing the paid for and cut-down free versions, so I might give it a try on the trial. If I do I'll report back.

After further investigation, I have decided to jump ship to AceMoney. The data migration ss going to cause me some pain and several hours of work but I really do like the functionality, and the fact that it is supported software.

I think it's a pretty finite decision as migrating back to MS Money would be nigh on impossible. Playing about with the free download version should give you a feel for whether you want to do it or not.

I have imported in excess of 200 accounts. 4 of them get completely messed up in the process but I have concluded that I can fix it by just recording single correction transactions.[STRIKE] I am not sure how it works for investments - I only have a few funds myself and can easily check them manually but someone with lots of fund and shares might find it more difficult.[/STRIKE] EDIT: scratch that, it actually works perfectly, incl automatic download from the relevant source.

Downloading transactions from bank/credit card provider seems to only work for US bank accounts but it's not a requirement I really have.

I also had to go through around 100 regular payments/transfers one by one to mark them as "enter bill automatically". These had all been marked that way in MS Money, so this wasn't so impressive.

Bottom line for me is that everything I used in MS Money, and everything I need, on a day-to-day basis is provided in one form or another in AceMoney. A lot works very similar to MS Money so whilst there are some differences, the learning curve is not steep at all.

Got a link to their website?
A bunch of results showed several websites that could be the product website, one that looks like it is the actual correct one but would be worthwhile getting a definitive link from you.

Screenshots remind me a little of the Linux program KMyMoney2 that I use. That program seems to have a more polished appearance but I think AceMoney probably has more features at the moment.
